.
No trick. TikTok said the backup servers are in Singapore.

TikTok slapped with fine in South Korea over mishandled user data
TikTok illegally collected 6,000 pieces of user data and transferred its users’ information in Korea to servers in Singapore and the US, according to a report by the Yonhap News Agency, which cited the KCC.
And I can tell you. US apps are doing all things US government accuses Chinese apps for.

All I can do is state facts and Chinese members put their fingers in their ears and mumble "lalalala...FAKE NEWS...lalalala...unfair...lalalala..TikTok not doing anything wrong...lalalala..China has every right to ban apps that store data outside of China..lalalala..we have every right to sue...lalala"

First, let's talk about data privacy and security. We store all TikTok US user data in the United States, with backup redundancy in Singapore.

Yup, when is India going to attack China for killing 22 indian soldiers with bare hand while suffer no fatality? Instead all india do is ban tiktok and a few petty ban which tells the world that life of 22 indian soldiers isnt worth that much. :enjoy:

So Singapore is equal to China by your logic. Where is your solid proof? I thought US is a country with rule of law.

What complete idiot logic are you using? If US apps stored Chinese user data in the UK or Australia are you 100% ok with that? Is the UK/Australia equal to the US?

Again Singapor is not China. We don't need to deny or tell you the fake news. Because America is the one who accuses Chinese apps for stealing data. It's your responsiblity to prove the crime exists. If you are in a court, you don't need to say a word before any solid proof is shown.

Well please tell your government and President Xi they are all stupid morons for requiring user data to stay within China's borders. Not allowing backups in a country like the UK or Australia just shows their complete ignorance of data security. Please alert them as to how smart YOU are compared to them.

Tik-Tok is hurting them. Let there be no mistake. Other countries have taken cue from India's ban. The only thing left for China to do is this:

TOKYO (Reuters) - China has warned Japan that a ban on Beijing-based ByteDance’s short-video app TikTok would have a “large impact” on bilateral relations, broadcaster TBS reported on Friday, citing unnamed Japanese government sources.

A group of lawmakers in Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party has decided to push for steps to restrict the app over concerns data could end up in the hands of the Chinese government, local media has reported.

Japan’s foreign ministry was not immediately available to comment. The government has not said it is considering banning the app.
