Tigers Are Dying in Record Numbers in India

I'm ill equipped to comment on Pakistan's forest department, last i saw a documentary on Pakistan's decreasing population of snow leopard on Nat Geo, such majestic creature.

West Bengal's forest department uses .303 bolt action Enfield, dual barreled or single barreled shotguns, and revolvers.
They should use ex-army men in forest department they will take care of Maoists and poachers all together and same time getting employment.

Then they are Natural Deaths ...aren't they ?

No, natural deaths are death caused by aging. I hail from a village near forests in North Bengal, cases of leopards dying because of poisoning aren't much unheard of, mostly because of fertilizers and insecticides they use in tea estates. Sometimes they release those insecticides in small water canals or rivers, causing casualties in elephants, leopards and what not.

And those insecticides kills the fishes, and they rise up the water. Poor villagers eat those fish, and face some serious consequences. Tigers or Leopards often feed on such fish too, as they are easy prey.

Humans feed on the fish as well. Insecticides is nothing, those 'shampoors, soap, face wash, shaving creams' that we humans wash down the drain also get into the animal food chain......and if you consume those, you are indirectly poisoning yourself.

Tea is a big thing in north east India, i think government must protect the flora and fauna there. Can be done on a small scale.

But poaching is poaching, i feel like poaching the person who kills animals like Tigers for fun.

Obviously, in an ecology, nothing is isolated. But have seen the carnage caused by releasing those insecticides in water stream. And there are few alcohol distilleries, which are equally responsible for polluting the rivers, which pass through jungles.

My father in forest department says that they had filed a petition years ago for service pistols but no response from government.I have seen forest official using .303 rifles in poaching sensitive areas like Kaziranga

The situation is more or less everywhere.

Entire body parts including its teeth have huge market in People Republic of China.
Even tiger penis is consumed in China to enhance male virility . However, modern science does not support the belief that the tiger penis (usually prepared as part of a dish) possesses any special potency. Huge demand of animal parts in China is only main reason decreasing wildlife in the world.
