What's new

This is why we can't defeat Taliban

. .
That kid's song is quite old, I've heard it from the same kid multiple times before. Unless i'm talking about some other one, which is a disturbing thing to think about.

Someone needs to go tell those idiots that 'Shariat' does not mean Burkas and cutting hands (not likely that anyone will have the courage to do it, considering the weaponry). And it doesn't allow for drug trading and human trafficking either, among other things. The Taliban themselves practice 'selective Shariat', enforcing what they want and disregarding the rest. And that's just the least horrible stuff they do.

The problem is narrative. Just listen to the 'lyrics' of that song. Filled with narrative. It's the narrative that needs to be eliminated and shredded. We need counter narrative to be spread in a similar fashion (excluding the weapons and miltantism, of course)

Wherever that place is, regardless of the mosque's sect or political leanings, it needs to be raided and everyone there needs to be handled with 'care' and 'discretion'. Government and police needs to get its shit together.

Its lack of education or poor quality education. Simple as that.

In order for some to behave and think rationally they must have education. The more education the rational and logical they become. They are able to see the big picture.

These idiots right here think by being copy cat and copying other militant movements in middle east and Afghanistan is the best way to defend themselves. Holding a ak47 and pretending to be scarface?

A rational person would understand that Pakistan is a muslim country and nuclear armed and to back the country as an entity is the smart decision.

This taliban concept of belief is racist Afghan mindset. They can tolerate India but not Pakistan. They are happy for a Hindu aggressive mammoth to exist and be strong but can't stand the thought of a strong muslim Pakistan.

It is obvious the terrorism problem traces back to Afghanistan. I mean which Pakistani would do a suicide attack on wagah border after so many sacrifices made to secure the border with India??

ISI need to start winning the propaganda war. They should start air dropping anti taliban literature everywhere in Pakistan, even the cities. Media needs to constantly show on tv how bad they are. A sustained campaign for 2 years so it goes into peoples minds.

Not just ISI, civilians need to start doing something too. The terrorist narrative must be fought on every level, in mosques and in schools, on a religious level and a political level - the way the West fought Nazism and Communism, we need to fight this Talibanism.

Media campaign, yes, along with constant campaigning from mosques and molvis themselves. It's very easy for certain idiots to say that media is all zionist-american-indian conspiracy, thus discrediting it. But if the campaign is on many levels, it will appeal to the general uneducated population more.

Civilians are either too lazy or scared.

Army should start to air drop leaflets explaining what Taliban really are and challenging their racist Afghan roots.

Perhaps do it every Friday in the hope closet TTP supporters start reading this.

You are right, Mosques should have loudspeaker seminars explaining why TTP are against Muslims succeeding. A uniformed speech which all mosques in the country would have to read every week.

Why don't they do these things, I don't understand. They are low cost solutions!

I agree completely

First of all, I disagree with the title. We can and we will defeat TTP. Only question is how long will it take and how much will we bleed.

Secret to defeating this evil for good lies with civilian government and hence common people of Pakistan. TTP could only thrive in the void created by lack of governance in some areas of Pakistan. Contrary to common belief, Army will only be able to take control of these areas and provide a degree of security for limited time. Some terrorists attacks will still continue here and there. Now it is the job of civilian government to use this space and available time and expand its tentacles quickly into these areas and sectors. Police and paramilitary forces must move in quickly and shoulder responsibilities of security inside towns and villages. Education and health ministries should go in emergency mode to establish these facilities in these areas. Jobs and trades should be created. Road and electronic communication links should be established and basic amenities provided. In short, people of these areas should feel governed and be part of Pakistan. This is something Army can not do. They can only provide a security umbrella for civilian government to expand its governance in this area.

Now there will be attacks and casualties on civilian officials during this. But if they are deterred and flee, we will be back to square one. And army will have to go in once more to do it all over again.

So how do we make civilian government do all this? Accountability. For long people of Pakistan have accepted their rulers as their fate. While these incompetent cowards have had a field day looting this country. But remember they are cowards and can be threatened by people of Pakistan. There is no greater power than power of masses demanding something in unison. People of Pakistan still have to realize their power. When they do, they will force government to act according to their wishes.

To some of you it might look an impossible job but I am quite optimistic that sooner or later, it will happen. Fire burns too close to our homes now. People will no longer ignore it and turn their anger to our incompetent governments. This is where things will start to change. They will shed their dirty alliances and start delivering to the people of Pakistan. Remember they love no one over their rule.

Is there any information about time period of this video? I am not sure if it would be possible for them to setup a gathering like this in these times and that too in Punjab. I noticed zemtv sometime posts stupid stuff and very outdated videos.
