This is Why Kashmir is Called Paradise on Earth

Unknown to many, Kashmir, which has remained a disputed territory since 1947, is one of the most ethereal places on Earth. That needs to change and here are a few reasons why Kashmir is a paradise, the whole world, should be aware of:

It has greenery that looks like something out of a fairy tale

Wherever you go, you will always find a thick carpet of velvety grass which is smoother than your bed. Probably. Unless you have a really really expensive bed that most of us can’t afford.

And lakes that look like this

Oh, there are mountains and valleys as well

And if you haven’t already noticed, the grass is literally greener in Kashmir.

You’ll find sprawling beautiful pastures escaping into the mountains.

Ridding a horse in these heavenly gardens is a whole new experience.

The famous Pashmina shawls are made from premium quality wool, known as cashmere, of goats found in Kashmir
(Ahh tasty wittle guy )

And those shawls?

Well…

Hand embroidered clothing doesn’t get any prettier than this.

If you happen to be a tea lover, you would definitely not want to miss the delicious Kashmiri Chai.

Sprinkle some crushed pistachios and top with a dollop of clotted cream. Pure bliss!

Your view while sipping the chai may look like this #goals

All that greenery must whip up a mighty appetite so the food is equally picturesque

Wazwan, a multi-course meal, is prepared on special occasions as it takes several hours of preparation for this magnificent feast. But, look at the beauty *starts drooling*

Rogan Josh is another Kashmiri specialty, popular wherever desi cuisine is eaten.

And any Kashmiri worth their salt knows that a Kashmiri meal is not done without a serving of rice, preferably pulao.

If you’re a resident, this is what your neighborhood probably looks like

It would be injustice not to talk about the beautiful people of Kashmir.

Look at these beaming, bright-eyed kids. Such innocence.
