There are relatively few Chinese air bases in the vicinity of Taiwan, and those would be the first targeted by US/Taiwan/Japanese missiles.

but can you deny that Taiwan IN GENERAL is very close to China? China can batter Taiwan and US from the mainland all day....if US planes go into the mainland they'll get snagged in China's AD network and brought down...CHina is just so close...surprise and logistics are naturally on China's side.
