The twins of Auschwitz

nazis were really crazy
Nope. They were just apathetic. This Doctor Mengele for example DID NOT hate the Jews. But he did not care about the Endoslung(Final solution) either. Apathy was so tremendous that he must have felt just like when a doctor feels while testing on monkeys or pigs. He considered all that just another day in his job. He was a very well trained doctor with little to no conscience.

Did he was killed by Mossad.
Nope. He lived a quiet retired life in South America and did some practise there as a 'Good German Doctor'. He was never caught.

Normal men like you and me. I don't believe in innate evil. He had a loving wife, children who adored him. He was a good family man, did not beat his wife, was not an alcoholic, did not have even a parking ticket to his name. And he was no exception. All the top leadership, the Allegmeine SS officers, the Doctors, etc were all good decent respected men with no taint - other than the fact that they were effectively carrying out the World's biggest organized massacre.

And yes, they slept well, discussed politics, religion, showed mercy(except to the untermenschen) and did almost everything we do. Yup, we are capable of great evil, given the proper circumstances.

More than normal,I guess. May be that is why like they are in every novels of murder mystery, world's most inhuman and cold blooded murderers are not necessarily hulkish but calm, educated or soft spoken and may be great admirers of poetry. We might recall the words of Mr.Homes about Prof.Moriarty when he said "The greatest schemer of all time, the organizer of every devilry, the controlling brain of the underworld, a brain which might have made or marred the destiny of nations—that’s the man! But so aloof is he from general suspicion, so immune from criticism, so admirable in his management and self-effacement, that for those very words that you have uttered he could hale you to a court and emerge with your year’s pension as a solatium for his wounded character."

.
I will recommend everyone here to watch this movie - 'Eichmann'. It's in German but a very good watch and has my favorite actor in it as Eichmann (Thomas Kretschmann)

Perhaps the same mentality like that of Bin Laden.
Both of these guys trusted their idealogy .You are right.
How can we call him.monsters if they firmly believed all those things that they did was absolutely right ?

Idealogy is the greatest diseases of mankind. If they thought that everything they did was absolutely right they were completely infested by by that idealogy

No. Bin Laden was a religious crusader. You can compare him with someone like Reinhard Heydrich. He was an ideological crusader. Eichmann, Mengele, Kaltenbrunner etc were normal men who got an avenue to channel their immoral fantasies. On live humans. For example - Eichmann did not kill one man in person. He was not even an anti Semite in the true sense. Yup, he did not even hate the Jews. He mostly signed and approved documents that allowed transports to happen. He did go beyond his call of duty and tried to send more undersirables to the camps than ordered. But still, most of the work he did was to sign. The approval letters for the transport of human cattle from ghettos to the camps. Camps where they were killed or worked to death.

Take Mengele for example. The good doctor loved to work on eugenics. But then Hitler banned testing on animals on grounds of animal cruelty. :omghaha:(The world's first country to ban testing on animals!) So the doctor waited...till he got his hands on human cattle to test on. It was a dream come true. He was satisfied, considered that he was doing something good for humanity (Aryanization was considered good) and tested on live humans with the same feeling you cut the frog in your school experiment. No more empathy and no less.

It's very easy to dilute the outcome of the task (if they have a problem with it) and convince people to perform tasks.
