Rafales must fly in with Meteor air-to-air missiles, India tells France
Rajat Pandit | TNN | Updated: Dec 4, 2019, 19:50 IST

Meteor AAMs, with a strike range of 120 to 150-km, can outgun any missile that can be unleashed by Pakistani or Chinese jets.

The request comes in the backdrop of the aerial skirmish between Indian and Pakistani fighters in Nowshera sector on Feb.27

India's Sukhoi-30MKIs and other jets, scrambled to intercept incoming Pak fighters, had found it difficult to engage F-16s at long ranges on that day.

What's the need for Indian urgency: ,"
“But given the current operational situation with Pakistan, India has asked for faster delivery of at least 8-10 Meteor .."

The Indians skip the result of:-
"The Pakistani F-16s were armed with the AIM-120C....
let loose several of them at the Sukhoi-30MKIs before the latter could even get into their firing range."

. .
The fact is people don't even know half the story of what happened on the 27th, but obviously the Indians know too well about the humiliation and how PAF knocked on their door to call them out thus adding insult to injury.....something which any amount of Meteor Missiles will never be able to change or help them.

. .
The SU-30s were having a hard time to detect the falcons
not just Su-30s but their upgraded M2k-5 as reported by Indian media itself about the malfunction of their radars, but MiG-21 manage to secure the kill against F-16 with BVR.

I think they should upgrade all of their fighters be it Su-30 or Mirage 2000-5 with MiG-21 radar and avionics ....

Apart from having Faith in our boys that train hard , and the Lord, in strictly technological terms, ain't your statement going towards a bit care free attitude?? Like 1 has to take even a sharpened Knife seriously in hands of your enemies, these are still Meteors ,
once locked (I know locking won't be a walk in d park for IAF but still) and fired, they wil creat a havoc on their target.

Brother I like your posts and have recently started contributing more on the forum (was more of a reader before) but due 27th Feb sometimes in your posts and threads I feel like a tint of carelessness or ridiculing our foe, I just hope its only on paper/forum (strictly for mocking IAF failure) & ain't dented the minds n attitudes of the PAF.

Regards,

The SU-30s were having a hard time to detect the falcons, but the mig-21 of Abhinandan shot down one F-16 while his aircraft was still in the hangar according to some reports.
Their old posters use to say.. When SU-30s were busy dodging AMRAAMs suddenly Nandu Mig-21 appeared from behind the Haji pir mountains and surprised F-16s as our F-16s were traveling by roads  they idiots dont know our strike package were well above 30k feets flying very high, how nandu jet hides from F-16s radar from that angle...

What are the actions taken by PAF after 27th Feb, vis-a-vis action taken by IAF ?

Element of surprise combined with courage and will to take risk..difficult to combat defeat or even fight maverick tactics
