The Trans-Pacific Partnership : A Free Trade Agreement?

Very good development. I hope TPP will be sign soon. Than we will see an era of prosperity for Vietnam and Japan like we've never seen before.

Thats not a big trouble, when we dont like those foreign textile companies anymore, we will BURN them again

Not that easy. You might as well end up like Greece, sitting on the bargaining table, making the hard choice between rock and the hard place.

When we came here at the first time, u thought we would be South Ossetia and your cheap PLA would crush VN into pieces, and now, u guys hope VN could be Greece, LOL. So, what will u wanna VN to become next time ?? a new Somali nation ??

In fact, the only one having poignant ending is CNese Ah Q when he keeps delluding himslef wt 'spiritual victory' :pop:

You think I represent everybody's opinion? No.

I see no likeness between Ossetia and Vietnam. Two different things. And I am against military diplomacy so long as the other side does not fire the first shot.

As for Greece allegory, it is not a wish, just a prediction. Because TPP seems to be designed to benefit the United States mostly. How much crumble you would get, I am not sure. But, considering the size and capability of your economy, you will not get much. High-end trade pacts like TPP is basically good for developed economies.

Vietnam signing TPP is somehow like Mexico joining China‘s orbit, doesn’t make much sense. US is already asking you to buy textiles from american companies, imagine it later made into shirts and socks and sell back to the US,that‘s like crossing the whole Pacific twice and probably riding some 18-wheelers coast to coast just for a pair of socks to end up at a Walmart in New York.

Right now or probably in 5 years the cheap labor of Vietnam and low tariff can justify the shipping cost and TPP-standard production cost, but after 10 years?VN will be fully intergraded into US orbit and hit a barrier like Mexico did,do you see many high paying jobs created in Mexico two decades after they signed NAFTA?or do you hear many mexcians complain about or want to quit NAFTA?No, they stagnated in the value chain and many of them still trying to migrate into the US illegally.

Don't get me wrong,Mexico is still a far more advanced economy than Vietnam and I think Vietnam will be lucky to get there, but judging by some ambitious viet members here, becoming another Mexico is never acceptable and I must be looking down on Vietnam by just saying that

US ask us to buy raw material from american companies, but we can produce ourself and can buy it from foreign companies selling raw material in VN, too. Thats not a big trouble.

JP- US also agree to transfer modern tech to VN, so we will even get richer wt modern tech after 10 years :pop:
