Simple objective conclusions of the reading the entire article and multiple supporting cables ...

1. US sided Pak with in 71, and it encouraged china to help Pak (I am not saying the reason PRC helped, saying that US asked PRC to help Pak)
2. Americans knew that there was a genocide happening in East Pakistan, and despite that they decided to ignore it, as Pakistan breakup was not favorable to USA.
3. India was strained by 10mil+ refugees from Bangla. (I am not saying that was the only reason to act against Pakistan, but definately a one of the reason ..)
4. America wouldnt mind duplicity as long as it serves its purpose. (Nixon publicly said US wouldnt help either, but asked Jordan/Iran/China to transfer fighter planes to Pakistan ..)


Well thinking of it nothing very surprising here.. Each country tried to act in its best interest independent of what it said in the public.

If you got the Loan from Japan , Malaysia ,China as you are claiming you think they wont expect significant returns on their investment. ????

And the Indian loan rate is lower than any other country . Check your Data again . That's why the Govt approved. In return we get the Transit facility.

And that infrastructure can be used to transport BD goods to one of the biggest domestic markets in the world India ...and you get reduced rates on Customs and excise duties for your goods too.

Several of your ministers made requests to import more BD goods , in response we decreased taxes to make your goods more competitive. Your traditional areas of strength --Jute products , Knitware, many others have already begun to have an edge over our own smale scale industries .
