Some days ago, I heard about a campaign, in which Germans were searching for the most beautiful German word. So got an idea from there.
Urdu, as a beautiful language has many beautiful words. I thoughts about many words and came across a word.
Tabassum = تبسم = Smile
The criteria were, like the word should sound good as well as its meanings should be good.
I will invite everybody here to poll their words too.

@Mentee @Windjammer @Well.wisher and all Urdu knowing friends here.
@Joe Shearer brother you are also invited as you seem to know a quite an Urdu.

.
Tabussum is an Urdu word?! Even though I live in US, I’ve spoken Urdu with my family all my life and never heard of this word...it sounds something more close to Arabic.

Tabassum may be Persian or Arabic, but yes it is used in Urdu as well. Don't know its origin, though.

Didn’t know that. But I guess what I’m saying is when I speak Urdu with my family I never say “mei tabussum ker rah ho” it sounds so awkward. How would a Urdu speaking person put Tabassum in a sentence? I’ve never used this word in my normal Urdu conversations.
