Having witnessed epic rap battles between persians and arabs every day in this forum,I have been researching on origins of persian arab rivalry..I came by the two letters which though insignificant in todays context,will sure improve the perspective on the historic roots of the issue..The letters are those of Caliph Omer and Persian emporer Yazgird III written to each ather,after the battle of qadissiya..

Your troops are defeated in all fronts and your nation is bound to collapse. I offer you a way to rescue yourself. Start praying to a mono God, a single union God, the only God who created everything in the universe.

We bring you and the world his message, he who is the true God. Stop your Fire Worship, command your nation to stop their Fire Worship which is false; join us by joining the truth. Worship Allah the only true God, The creator of universe. Worship to Allah and accept Islam as your salvation. End your Pagan ways and your false worships now and bring Islam so you can accept Allah as your savior. By doing so, you will find the only way to your survival and peace for Persians. If you know what is best for Ajam (Arabic term for Persians meaning Retarded & Weird), you will choose this path. Bei'at is the only way.

Battle of al- Qadisyyah and Battle of Nahavand were two of the most important battles fought between the Rashidun caliphate and the Persian Empire (Sassanian Dynasty). These two battles had crippled the conventional military force of the Persian empire. The Rashidun caliphate sent in reinforcement to Pars and other Persian territories and resistance was crushed and brutally dealt with. The Rashidun caliphate freely roamed the Persian empire after that, like how the Wehrmacht paraded in Paris. As for Yazdegerd III he was helpless and fled the scene of many battles and escaped several attempts by the Rashidun caliphate to capture him alive. He fled eastward as far as Merv, Turkmenistan he was so desperate he had actually pleaded to the Turkic ruler in Merv for military assistance against the Rashidun caliphate. I'm unclear about his death but it is believed Yazdegerd III was killed there in Merv after quarrels between him and the Turkic ruler of Merv.


Yazdegerd III should have assessed his military capabilities better he underestimates the Rashidun caliphate dismissing them as an army of bedouins when realistically they had become a relatively disciplined and trained force which deployed in tactical units, each unit with a specific task under clear command, the early Arab generals were the difference makers in those wars and battles against the Persians.


This of course wouldn't be the first time a Persian ruler severely miscalculated and underestimated his opponent and enemy, Emperor Darius did the same with Alexander II, he like centuries before Yazdegerd also fled eastward to escape the wrath of the invading army. Same blunders, same consequences. Persian Empire suffered from a long period of stagnation and failed to adapt to the new world around them.

Yes, it seems made up letters by ultra persian nationalist website.

1. Irani source is not reliable for these letters, they consider Umer bin Khitab R.A their enemy till today.

moreover in the end, is the name, Hazrat Umar declared himself Amir-ul-momineen and called by so, well let alone the context of the the letters which makes it dubious and fake.
