COAS meets US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan - thenews.com.pk

Our officials have been meeting regularly to address our shared concerns in the region. The U.S. and Pakistan share a common stance against terrorism, and the importance of working together to negate the common threat of terrorism cannot be overemphasized. Those who continue to indulge in conspiracy theories should realize that it is in the best interests of both nations to see peace prevail throughout the region.

Please feel free to suggest any steps that can be taken to further strengthen our (the U.S. and Pakistan) relationship.

Maybe not attaching Afghanistan with us all the time?
Or are we just partners to a limited extent like I've been saying throughout?

Agreed.

The US and Pakistan should work together in Afghanistan to succeed.

Any effort to go alone in the past has not yielded the desired results.

This , however , is only possible if the national interest of both countries are taken into account.

As mentioned, the interest of US and Pakistan converge because it is in the interest of both our countries to see a long-term peaceful Afghanistan.

So lets work together to achieve that elusive Peace deal which will only come from a negotiated settlement and NOT from the barrel of a gun.

I favour occupying Afghanistan as a new territory of Pakistan and then assigning a local body to help with this communication gap

.
US should evacuate completely from Afghanistan, and also US should now accept and digest Pakistan as an Atomic Power and a sovereign state and stop interfering in our National interests and in our politics. If this is all happen believe me they will find Pakistan a real friend and a reliable allay.

Do not be flippant to our regional concerns and learn to respect Pakistan as more than a tool for your Afghan war.
Also readdressing the rhetoric coming from certain congressmen who doubt every move Pakistan make as some evil plot. There are a large number here who do follow the statements made by members of the congress on Pakistan and it would be great if there were less negative statements given on Pakistan who have suffered the most in terms of terrorism.

Dear RazorMc,

We’ve always emphasized Pakistan’s importance in the region and continue to do so. The fact of the matter is that we cannot have a safe and secure region without a safe and secure Pakistan. And let’s not forget that the U.S. and Pakistan have been working together in regards to our common objectives in the region for over a decade. At the same time, it is important to keep in mind that terrorists have been conducting their terrorist activities on both sides of the Afghanistan and Pakistan border. It goes without saying that mutual cooperation is simply imperative and the need of the hour. Moreover, we have always emphasized shared cooperation between the regional partners, and at the end of the day, it is in our best interests to combine our strength and stay unified against those who are working against our shared peace objectives in the region.
