The dysfunctional megacity: why Dhaka is bursting at the sewers

.

3 billion dollars for 92km. 1.5x more expensive in BD per km in that case and Dhaka is a capital city and Bangalore is not.

What happened to your claim of 3-4 times more expensive in BD then?

So you have nuclear liability legislatiin as well ? @Nilgiri :D

BD is building a brand new power plant at Roopur while your one is just an upgrade to an existing one and uses the older VVER-1000 technology. BD is using the newer VVER-1200 tech.

.
Dhaka is a capital city and Bangalore is not.

What does that have to do, genius ? It depends upon land price & Bangalore isn't cheap.

It's twice as expensive as Bangalore. The other 21 km costs thrice as much...

Lol, hilarious excuse for overpriced projects.

Both are gen III designs.

Lol, hilarious excuse for overpriced projects.

Both are gen III designs.

BD spends 2 billion US dollars for 40 km.
India spends 3 billions US dollars for 90km.

Dhaka is more expensive than Bangalore - capital cities are always more expensive.

lOl, hilarious excuse for overpriced projects.

Both are gen III designs.

VVER 1200 is newer and more advanced/ safer than VVER-1000.
BD changed to new design after Japanese nuclear disaster.

2.8 billion. Check the exchange rate...

BS. Show data about land prices then.

VVER 1200 is newer and more advanced/ safer than VVER-1000.

 As if you have compared the relevant safety features.

. .
VVER-1200 has passive heat removal system and a core catcher to contain the molten reactor core in event of accident. These are just two of the ways that BD reactor is safer than Indian one.

Google VVER 412

The design employs a number of systems and Engineered Safety
Features (ESFs) of novel design. One of the salient features of the
design is incorporation of ‘Four Train Safety Systems’, thus increasing
reliability. Another important feature is provision of both active
and passive systems to prevent accidents and/or to mitigate their
consequences. Passive systems such as Passive Heat Removal System
(PHRS), Second stage ECCS accumulators, System for retaining
and cooling of molten core (Ex-vessel Core Catcher) etc. have
been provided for catering to BDBA. Quick Boron Injection System
(QBIS) has been incorporated in addition to the active Emergency
Boron Injection System (EBIS) for catering to Anticipated Transients
Without Scram (ATWS) situations.

Still newer design and so more costly.

. . .
So pay 3X more...

Just under 2X per GW. Please brush up on your maths.
Also this is a new plant and not an upgrade to an existing one in Tamil Nadu.
We must not forget that some of the power from Roopur will feed the capital Dhaka which is just over 100 km away. BD is so compact that slightly higher infrastructure costs can be compensated in other ways.

. .
@UKBengali bhai why are you tagging these trolling experts. Just Google the topic.

These Indian people have only mal-intentions for our country, nothing else. They join every Bangladeshi topic and routinely run every thread into the ground with their hateful posts. If this continues and mods take no action, we will have to set up separate forums for just discussing Bangladeshi matters.

At the end of the day - do we want sane discussion or hateful trolls ruining every thread?

My humble request to all genuine Bangladeshi posters here - please stop wasting time with these trolls as well some of the new false-flaggers here with Bangladeshi flags having post counts of under 500 (who keep on tagging these Indians).

Apologies for being a bit preachy....

Good riddance. That post in the metro thread about you being a chotolok (first brought up by your own compatriot Bluesky) really hit you badly didn't it? Probably cried a whole day when mods just left it up after you definitely auto-reported it.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out ingrate. Just remember how long you have been making this typical BeeDee waaah waaah we should leave if it stays mean..... and keep coming back here for more.....and never once trying to reflect why people (as divided as Indians and Pakistanis and whoever else) end up all being mean to you ( a specific though large subset of the BD posters here)....pro tip: the issue and common denominator is you, not them.

of the new false-flaggers here

Oh nooooo, the advanced false flagger detective strikes again! THOSE GD BHARTI FALSE FLAGGERS!

It also depends upon soil. Bangaluru is in the deccan plateau with hard soil and Dhaka is in a flood plain surrounded by a lot of water bodies. So higher costs to build any heavy transport infrastructure.

Per KM cost of expressway in Dhaka $42 million($1.673 billion for 40km) and Bangaluru $31 million(if we accept your $2.8 billion cost for 90 km). Dhaka project cost is 35 percent more. But you have to consider that Dhaka expressway will be used by more people as Dhaka is almost twice as much populous then Bangalore. So per capita cost/benefit will be in favor of Dhaka.I don't know about the number of lane and connecting ramps in both these two projects, that may also contribute to the cost differential.
