Flag of Uzbekistan
The national flag was approved by the Extraordinary 8th Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 18, 1991.

The flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan consists of blue, white and green stripes, separated by two narrow red stripes. A crescent and three rows of twelve stars are situated on the left side of the upper blue stripe.

The blue color symbolizes the sky and water as the principle sources of life. The National flag of Amir Timur was also blue in color. The white stripe is the traditional symbol of peace and of moral and spiritual purity. The green stripe symbolizes nature, the new epoch and abundance in the countries where the majority of the population is Islamic. Besides that, this is in harmony with the modern movement of Greenpeace, which protects nature. The red separating stripes symbolize the current of vital energy in any living body and also connect our pure and noble thoughts with the sky and the earth. The crescent of the new moon, along with its traditional historical symbolism, is at the same time a symbol of the birth of republic's independence. The symbolism of twelve stars is connected historically with the solar calendar year, which begins from Navruz and embodies the twelve principles laying in the foundation of state management.

Emblem of Uzbekistan
uzbek_gerb.jpg
The state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was approved by the 10th Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 2, 1992. The state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan actually absorbed the centuries-old experiences of the Uzbek people. It reflects a blossoming valley and a shining sun. The right side of the valley is set off with wheat and to the left with a cotton plant garland. The octagonal star, symbolizing the unity of the Republic, crowns the state emblem. The holy Muslim symbols of the crescent and the star are placed inside the star. In the center of the emblem there is the holy bird, Khumo, with its spread wings symbolizing magnanimity, nobility and service. These symbols reflect the long way of the Uzbek people towards peace, stability, happiness, wealth and prosperity. A little frame with the inscription "Uzbekistan" is placed in the lower part of the state emblem.

The National Anthem
The state anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was approved by the 11th Session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 12th convocation on December 10, 1992.

The lyrics are by Abdulla Aripov and the music by Mutal Bourkhanov.
My country, sunny and free, salvation to your people,
You are a warmhearted companion to the friends
Flourish eternally with knowledge and inventions,
May your fame shine as long as the world exist!

Refrain:
These golden valleys-dear Uzbekistan,
Manly spirit of ancestors in companion to you!
When the great power of people became exuberant
You are the country that amazes the world!

Belief of generous Uzbek does not die out,
Free, young children are a strong wing for you!
The torch of independence, guardian of peace,
Just motherland be eternally prosperous!

Refrain:
These golden valleys-dear Uzbekistan,
Manly spirit of ancestors in companion to you!
When the great power of people became exuberant
You are the country that amazes the world!

http://tashkenttimes.uz/economy/325...16-small-hydroelectric-power-stations-by-2024
Draft Uzbekistan’s Hydropower Industry Development Concept for 2020-2024 has been published for public consultation.

The draft states that electricity generation in Uzbekistan is not diversified to great extent, with over 80 percent generated by burning natural gas, followed by hydropower — more than 10 percent, and coal — 5 percent. Currently, there are two main electricity generating companies: UzbekEnergo, which generates about 90 percent of total electricity production at thermal power plants and UzbekHydroEnergo with 37 hydropower plants providing about 10 percent.

While, the total capacity of generating stations in Uzbekistan is at 14,100 MW, with an annual electricity generation at more than 70.0 billion kWh. Hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 1,854 MW generate about 6.5 billion kWh of electricity, depending on the water flow during the year.

“Only 7 new hydropower stations out of 37 operating hydropower plants were put into operation during the last 25 years, the rest o were built a long time ago, from 30 to 80 years ago,” the document added.

Before 2024, Uzbekgidroenergo plans to implement 4 hydroelectric power station projects with capacity of more than 30 MW each, 16 new small ones and to modernize 21 operating hydro power plants.

Despite the relatively recent start of a project to transform UZBAT into an export hub for the supply of finished tobacco products to the countries of Central Asia and Mongolia, the geography of export supplies is expanding every month.

Since the second half of 2018, the products of the Samarkand cigarette factory have been successfully sold in the markets of neighboring Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia
In December 2018, Tajikistan joined these countries and the first batch of tobacco products with the inscription Made in Uzbekistan has already been sent to this country. The company is seriously focused on increasing exports of finished products and is not going to be limited to the markets of Central Asia and Mongolia.

Since December, UZBAT has started to supply products to the Georgian market. On December 22, the first five trucks with a batch of products under the BAT brand names set off for Sakartvelo (the name of the country is Georgian).

Summing up the results of 2018, UZBAT AO successfully implemented the export program planned for this year, somewhat exceeding the export forecast obtained at the beginning of the year through the line of Uzbekoziqovqat Holding Company.

For 2019, the company has set itself even more ambitious plans for the export of finished products, the implementation of which will largely depend on the stable macroeconomic situation in the country and on export markets, as well as on the well-coordinated activities of all departments of the company.
The Uzbek-British company British American Tobacco Uzbekistan (UZBAT A.O.) was established on November 22, 1994 as a joint venture with state participation. The company is one of the leading foreign investors and the largest British investor in the Uzbek economy with a cumulative amount of direct investment of about US$400 million.

At the moment, UZBAT is the only manufacturing company of the BAT group in Central Asia, which includes the Tashkent office, Samarkand cigarette factory (BAT SSF), and Urgut fermentation plant (BAT UFZ) on the processing of raw tobacco.

The company operates in the framework of a full technological and production cycle - from growing in cooperation with domestic farmers and tobacco growers of green raw tobacco to the production of finished products for the needs of the domestic market and exports abroad.
