The dangers of Bangladesh are bigger than thought

We are in a good trajectory of development. Can't allow this Rohingya problem ruin it.

I don't think Myanmar Army Junta will do anything foolish as they are also in a position to cash in on their way up the ladder, albeit on a much smaller scale. They wouldn't cross the line by doing anything foolish, like cross the border to attack us.

Perhaps cultivate ties with Turkey, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia.

I think the time has come to consider reviving the old trade group of CENTO from the fifties. Turkey and Pakistan were active members of CENTO then. However Western and Zionist schemes destroyed CENTO.

burmese savage are coward like hyenas. They only back off if you show strength.Thailand bombed them inside their country with f-16 and they could do nothing.Even bharat crossed their border to chase the north east freedom fighters. Bangladesh should emulate the Pakistan and Thai armed forces to keep the enemy at bay.At least we need to double our defence budget and size of our armed forces.2-2.5 percent GDP on defence is very normal. It doesn't harm the economic potential.Bangladesh just need some improvement in revenue collection.

Just open your legs nice and wide like you're already doing and no one has to be extra nasty to you beyond that.

SHW gets the message....she's a natural.

Love that you have a self-realisation of what your people are in this action-based hierarchy (given you are the only ones meek and weak in response like the effeminate losers you are....when you receive this kind of action from MM way worse than the other countries combined). Rest of year and next year is going to be an excellent one for BD for me...hopefully good deep internal carnage (lets have a few pilkhanas for starters) visits BD and never leaves....SHW will be kept to overlord over you slaves though, that result is always guaranteed.

You give Tamils a bad name with your antics.

And every last one of you here gives BD people a terrible name with yours.

So here's what I have to say:

The vast majority of your are taunts and insults.

Not sure what your problem is.

Isn't Arakan state surrounded by Mountains (see map below) ?

How effective would it be for Myanmar to defend Arakan state using ground troops? Once you get air superiority and naval superiority, things look not so good for Myanmar.
savanna-style-map-of-arakan-rakhine.jpg

Who wants to go to Mrauk U as a tourist?? :raise:
The Arakan Mountain Range is about 250 miles (400 km) of actual mountains. The highest point is at 3,094 metres (10,151 ft). The Arakan Mountains divide the Rakhine coast from the rest of Burma, and thus have acted as a barrier between the peoples of central Burma and those of the Indian subcontinent. This played a role in fostering the separate development of the Rakhine people, both linguistically and culturally, from the Burmese.

The Arakan Mountains also served as a barrier inhibiting Burmese invasions, and allowing Arakan to develop as a separate political entity. Thus the coastal cities, such as Mrauk U and Waithali, formed the core of Arakan civilization.

But, due to lack of foresight of the British Colonial masters, Arakan was cut from the Presidency of Bengal joined with the Union of Burma only in 1937. People in both sides of border are now suffering due to that. Burma cannot really defend its central area west of Yoma mountain if it is a guerrilla war. However, in my opinion, it will be almost impossible for the groups like ARSA to wage a war against Burma with a small population of less than 1 million.

. .
Those savage was never able conquer Arakan as long as Bengal was independent or part of Mughal. It was only during Company rule in Bengal and internal disorder in Arakan when burmese got the opportunity to set foothold in Arakan in 1785.Then burmese became too ambitious and attacked Assam and Manipur.Which alarmed british and draw them in conflict with burma.1st anglo-burmese and 2nd anglo-burmese war brought whole burma within British rule.It was a grave mistake for the british for not making northern Arakan as part of Bengal instead of burma.Whose price Rohingya are giving this date with blood.

That's not true..take a look at this video..have a good look at the Chittagong Hill tracts and the Arakan region...No empire out of India (save the British) ever extended beyond the Chittagong Hill Tracts..CHT is a natural border between Indian subcontinent and South-East Asia

I was talking about burmese didn't controlled Arakan until 1774.Arakan was an independent kingdom much of the history.Actually a south Asian kingdom, Chola dynasty, controlled Arakan at one point.Burmese before 1774, repeatedly attacked Arakan, but were repulsed every times, sometimes with the help of Sultan of Bengal. They finally broke the defence, when Bengal came under company rule and internal disorder within Arakan itself. And these youtube videos are not gospel truth. It is mostly done by the amateur. So some emission, exaggeration is possible.

Fair point... noted, accepted......Does CHT represent a natural border between Indian subcontinent and South East Asia or is the natural border a bit east to that?

.
Juggernaut,

From a purely geographic point of view- the line comprising the watershed of Arakan Yoma, Chin Hills, Naga Hills and Patkai Bum represent the eastern edge of the subcontinent.

Regards

Bluesky,

Let me suggest a way out. Burma shud cede Arakan and Chin Hills and BD can cede CHT to India. That way there will be no common border between Burma and MM and no dispute.

Regards

Betweeen Burma and MM? what's MM You mean Arakan and Chin Hills together should form a seperate country or merge with India? that Chittagong Hill Tracts with its Bengali Buddhist Population didnot merge with India was one of the greatest tragedies of Partition..what was the logic of giving CHT to East Pakistan anyway?

CHT during partition does not consist of Bengali Buddhists but, collective non-Bengali ethnic groups of Buddhists and several Christians. I believe that CHT's economy was dependent on the rest of the Chittagong division.

.
Burma and BD I meant, sorry.

what was the logic of giving CHT to East Pakistan anyway?

Apart from population other criteria were kept in mind. Two Muslim majority districts Murshidabad and Malda were given to India to ensure that the River Hooghly on which Cal depends remains with India. In lieu two Hindu/Bud majority districts, CHT and Khulna were given to EP, CHT for giving a backbone to Chittagong and Khulna as a potential second port to EP.
