The body of an Indian soldier has been recovered from the Teesta. A delegation led by BSF company commander Sanjay Kumar Das and a delegation led by OC Laichur Rahman of Nilphamari’s Dimla police station handed over the body to the BSF through a flag meeting on Thursday afternoon.

In North Sikkim, India, the Chungthang barrage (dam) of the Teesta river has been damaged, causing floods in Dimla of Nilphamari due to continuous rains and hill-slides. Incessant rain since Wednesday (October 4) has caused water to flow 20 cm above the danger level at the Teesta barrage point. Teesta water flowed 51.50 cm below the danger level at 3 pm on Thursday. As the water recedes, grass grows in some areas along the banks of the Teesta. At around 8 am on Thursday morning, residents of Dimla Upazila’s Khagakhribari Union, Khagakhribari Union, 1st Ward, Teesta River Area, Kisamat Chatnai Char, found a dead body and reported it to BGB. Then BGB and BSF arrived at the spot. At that time, the BSF team identified the body as that of the missing Indian army personnel who had been swept away by the ongoing flood.

BSF company commander Sanjay Kumar Das said, “The body of one of the 71 soldiers who went missing after heavy rains and flash floods in India’s northeastern state of Sikkim was found in Dimla upazila of Bangladesh’s Nilphamari district.”

The OC of Dimla police station said that the locals informed the BGB after seeing the body of an unidentified youth (38) from Char of Khagakharibari Union at around 8 am on Thursday. Later, BGB informed Dimla police. The police, BGB, BSF and Indian police at the spot handed over the body to the BGB at 1.30 pm after a flag meeting.

I feel very sad for the loss of a precious life. RIP.

The Teesta flood situation must be very bad. Is it due to warm weather that melted Himalayan ice?

The water is coming down the mountain slope. It may hit the Teesta Barrage and destroy it. People east of this structure may suffer tremendously.

They must immediately take shelter away from the river.

Should have used it for target practice as Indians were wishing to do with BD civilians few days back

Bhai we cannot stoop to the level of these dogs.

Tough thing to do.

We have to sleep at night.

bengalis should put body on fish hook and catch a shark with it.

It was just like Teesta water sharing negotiations, dead on arrival.

Yup - at the end of the day, this is (despite different uniform) still a human being - probably with a widow and children.

For a few measly Rupees - sent in harms way - only to lose his life.

If they lose their hapless lives, should we blame the Dalit, or the ba$tard Brahmin who sent him in this dangerous situation?

Very sad.

I am not ruling out the possibility of him defecating near the river. There could be another possibility. During summer, cows jump into the river to take a bath. I think the Indian soldier went there to drink cow piss also known as cow cola.

They also love molesting animals. If the cow was in a helpless position - soldier could have tried taking advantage of the poor cow.

But got his comeuppance 🤣🤣🎉🎉🎉

Karma is a cow!!

You people have no civic sense or decency at all. This a part of the reason why your entire nation is in chaos. You deserve to be ruled by the army. Atleast they can discipline you

So you're saying that Brahmins caused the flood ?

It is Indians who want to shoot BD civilians for target practice but it is me who need to learn civic sense

Typical pajeet hypocrisy

You're sounding utterly stupid. You don't know how quick rivers in mountains can swell with water. I've seen flash floods myself having lived in Himalayan states
