The Air Force Abruptly Ends Its Continuous Bomber Presence On Guam After 16 Years

I am most certain the crew of those bombers can now enjoy some good rest at night without worrying the possibility of turning into ashes by those ballistic missiles. They can thank president Trump for it. This is the new reality, being afraid is very normal when you face an opponent like China.

Hi

"adopted a concept of operations known as Dynamic Force Employment, which aims to make major deployments less predictable in order to keep potential opponents, such as China and Russia, on edge. It also serves to demonstrate America's ability to project force around the world on short notice and with little advance warning for adversaries."
The answer is way more simple.
  1. US cares for the region way less than the enormous amount of money it spends on it
  2. US has basically committed to switching from offensive to defensive stance in Asia Pacific a few years ago, as an outcome of the first point
  3. Bombers are to be replaced by long range standoff weapons, deployed from smaller crafts, as an outcome of the second point. Conventional bombers are a bad bang for buck against forces on the move, and when the opponent's air defence can't be suppressed with anything possible outside of context of full scale invasion campaign.
  4. USA's only normal tactical bomber now is B1, but it hardly fits a role. B1 still costs enormous money to operate, there are only around 20 of them US can spare for the pacific theatre, and they were not been seriously upgraded for decades, refitting it for the new strategy, and increasing readiness of B1 forces will be too much of a hassle for US military bureaucracy.
