The attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar is one of the deadliest attacks ever by the Taliban in Pakistan. The terrorists have been attempting to destabilize the nation of Pakistan for over a decade. Unfortunately, we have witnessed hundreds of attacks throughout Pakistan in the last decade, and thousands of people have been laid to rest due to the acts of terror. It would take nothing less than a heartless human being to target innocent little school children. This attack presents a new low and clearly proves that the terrorists continue to surpass all lines in their bid spread fear and chaos.

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to all those who are affected by this tragedy. We hope that the families and especially parents find the strength to deal with this heartbreak. This is what the U.S. President Barack Obama said after the attack: “The United States condemns in the strongest possible terms today’s horrific attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar, Pakistan. Our heart and prayers go out to the victims, their families, and loved ones. By targeting students and teachers in this heinous attack, terrorists have once again shown their depravity. We stand with the people of Pakistan, and reiterate the commitment of the United States to support the government of Pakistan in its efforts to combat terrorism and extremis and to promote peace and stability in the region”.

The seriousness of the situation requires our nations to combine our strength against those who pose a threat to the safety of our nations. We are witnessing how these repeat offenders continue to resurface with their deadly agenda, and it serves us no good to indulge in conspiracy theories that shift the advantage in our common enemies favor. We stand with the nation of Pakistan during this tragedy, and pray and hope that day is not far when peace is restored throughout the country.

a few 'leased' A-10s would help eradicate these scums....

a few 'leased' A-10s would help eradicate these scums....

How ?

.. and what is it that Pak does not have to ' eradicate' these scums.

In my opinion what Pakistan does not have is the will. Its the wheels within wheels in the PA, ISI, GOP, State Govts and so many others that prevent decisive action being taken.

The first needed for decisive action is a decision. There is no visible unanimity, ops against the ' bad taliban' are preceded by so much public fanfare that it makes the Ops meaningless.

Restrict your argument to FATA and balochistan and do explain where Army will lacks now a days ?

The fan fare was there for a reason. But What did ISAF and Afghan forces did to secure there side of border. It is hardly 300 KM strip of border which borders whole N.Waziristan agency, they could have easily covered it with there tech and human resources.

Unless you present an unbiased analysis, don't post condescending comments

You have just answered your question by ending the first sentence with ' now a days".

Why now a days and not everyday ?

What was the reason for the fanfare ? Never mind what the ISAF did or did not do , after what PA did to them at Abbotabad it would be naive to expect support. The question is what did Pakistan do for all these years when it permitted the lawlessness to perpetuate ? The wily thinkers in Pindi got it wrong & its showing.

Even now all the inputs the world gets is from ISPR not from independent media sources. The Op is being made out to be some sort of blitzkrieg while the enemy has bypassed the PA & hit it in the rear - once again.

Lastly my question in my post above was to do with a demand for A 10s on lease which was made out to be the panacea .

Are you following Pakistani operation histories ? PA started there major operations in 3-4 Agencies of FATA from 2008. Mohmand agency, Khyber agency, S.Waziristan Agency. First 3 agencies all border N.waziristan. Major ops ended in 2013 ONLY. while Khyber is still giving us headaches. What are we? Some kind super man with super resources we could take on all militants in all 7 agencies at once ? Before engaging in wild conspiracy theories do dwell on why Pakistan is securing Agencies bordering N.Waziristan for last 4-5 years.

Moving on to your next absurd observation. Fan fare needed so that 1 million people can clear out the whole agency. Jeez, is this something that you can't comprehend ?

Moving on to your next outrageous absurd claim. OBL was intelligence lapse and failure. Whatever you are speculating, you just put zaid hamid to shame in your wild conspiracy theory.

And lastly, Go read Wajahat S khan reports on Zarb e Azb. He is NBC correspondent. We are in active war zone, not in some circus or fanfare that we grant international media an access to it so they do another Lal Mosque type of stunt.

Speaking of granting access to International media, Have you totally forgotten they were granted access in N.Waziristan in August/September ? Ignorance is bliss, what you are good at is only wild accusations so to satisfy your ego and you can rub it in.

Spot on!

Really? Then why is it that all reports are issued only by the ISPR? We don't see any list of militant casualties given out by these so called international journalists you claim have access in the operational areas? Or are their reports scrutinized and vetted by the ISPR before they are published?

Can you show me any such report by the international media?

Look its your country , do what you feel .

Fanfare to remove 1 million people !! Do you have military background ? Is this how ops are carried out ?

How calmly you attribute OBL to ' intel failure " !! The world most wanted terrorist in your backyard and ' intel failure" - no sir not even Pakistan can expect the world to swallow this one.

Your nation allowed the Talibs to take control of Swat in 2009 and then rescinded it. Shows indecision to the world, to a military mind it shows the wheels within wheels in the establishment.

Like I said, its your nation, you have already torn in once, and what you guys are doing is going to tear it apart from within this time. Good luck - you need it.

My heart goes out to those innocent children who lost their lives due to the machinations of those who ( mis) run the nation.

Pakistan has access to everything it needs to get the job done. You need a multi-pronged approached to eradicate this problem. Firing squad for sympathizers in your communities would go a much longer way than the A-10s. Tell me sir, what did Sri Lanka have that destroyed the Tamil Tigers? Was it A-10 Warthogs? Apache gunships?
