What's new

Terrorist takes Australian cafe customers hostage:

What's the story behind him? What did he do in Iran that got him into trouble?
well he was convicted of huge fraud and promoting extremism , he escaped to AUS as the police was looking for him .

then Aus govt. issued him asylum and when iranian govt. ask for extradition , it was denied .

funny thing is , since 24th muharram (islamic month) he officially announced he is a member of ISIS and is no longer a Shia .

he said he has (البیعه) or islamic Allegiance with the leader of ISIS abu bakr al-baghdadi

and Aussies seem to ignore it ..... the maniac was a ticking bomb and no one cared

Not going to be well for the Muslims in Europe, Australia, and Great Britain...

Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West quickly gathering support in Germany

It is easy to dismiss what is happening in Germany as knee jerk reaction of a minority racist few, but such a dismissal ignores the silent majority who felt they had no choice because their political and cultural leaderships failed them, and must reluctantly ally themselves with these vocal racist few.

Its would be hard for immigrants of all the religions and nations who are basically non Europeans. Its already visible in all the EU nations.

Lets Recap

What happened

A Gunman entered Lindt Cafe in Martin Place on the monday morning at 9:45 with 17 customer inside. The gunman is one Man Haron Monis, aged 50, Australian born in Iran, apply asylum in Australia in 1996, Monis is currently on bail with a accessories to murder charge against his exwife and of 40 sexual assault charge. He was due back in court on Febuary 2015.

Monis was armed with a shot gun, and believed to be armed with explosive. He was shot dead by police when police stormed the cafe at 230am sydney time.

Is this a terrorist attack and did he act alone

It is and it isn't, the attack created terror, but usually a terrorist attack would closely associated with either religious or political extremeistism. And a terrorist attack are said to induce maximum terror. in this case, Monis motive is unknown, there are no formal request of anysort related to the ISIL group nor did the group claim responsibility.

On top of this, he have a beef with Australian Authority himself he is on bail and looking at serious time if he was convicted. So we cannot say for sure if this is a religious motivated terrorist attack, he could have a equal chance of looking at a loud bang before he went down and use Islamic Extremeism as a cover.

And currently all sign points to he is acting alone

How it ends

The police storm the Cafe at 2:30 am Sydney time, shot and killed Monis and the siege ended.

There are not much information known as of now, but piece from scatter information from police and news outlet, it is believed one of the hostage trying to grab or disarm Mosin and got shot. The shot alerted the police and they hace decided to rush in as situation changed

2 Hostage were killed, along with Man Haron Mosin and 5 other hostage and one police officers were woundee.

How Amnesty International was ‘conned’ by Lindt cafe killer Man Haron Monis
  • EXCLUSIVE: TAYLOR AUERBACH

Siege victims farewelled.

AMNESTY International was last night forced into an embarrassing admission that the group lobbied the Australian government on behalf of terrorist Man Monis after he “conned” them into thinking he was a top-level Iranian spy.

Damning evidence of Amnesty’s involvement was brought to light when The Daily Telegraph unearthed a letter from their then refugee co-ordinator to the Department of Immigration, supporting the Martin Place gunman’s application for refugee status.

The letter was written in April, 1997, and told the government Monis deserved a protection visa because he had written poetry critical of the Iranian government, was a cleric, had involvement with the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and had connections with “high-level individuals”.

Amnesty said these factors put Monis at risk if he was to return to Iran. He was granted refugee status in 2001.

“Had I written the letter it would have been different,” Amnesty International refugee co-ordinator Dr Graham Thom said last night.

“Amnesty’s processes have certainly changed … today when I get evidence we will only state something as a fact when we’re able to verify it. I’m not sure why (Monis’s claims) were taken at face value.” Dr Thom admitted Amnesty represented Monis’s oral evidence as fact to the government. He said Monis was able to produce a number of names that “clearly matched the names we had” of Iranian officials.

Monis originally approached Amnesty under the name Mohammed Hassan Manteghi. When he returned to the organisation seeking assistance in 2010, as Sheikh Man Haron Monis, he was turned back. Amnesty did not know he was the same person they assisted in 1997.

Dr Thom said Amnesty was partly duped by Monis’s level of research and the fact he had published anti-government poetry: “That’s part of any good con. That it’s got a significant amount of truth.”

The admission came as chilling photos emerged of Monis rallying in front of Christmas decorations in Martin Place. Monis was snapped at an anti-Israel demonstration on December 3, 2009 — almost exactly five years before he carried out a brazen terrorist attack just metres away.

A former close friend of Monis last night said he became “pro al-Qaeda” at the same time and even uploaded images of Osama bin Laden to his website.

The friend and former employee, who knew Monis in Iran, said the terrorist ran a number of retail businesses in Tehran and was married to the daughter of a general.

In correspondence obtained by The Daily Telegraph, Monis claimed he was a relative of Major-General Hassan Firouzabadi and the two shared a “special bond”. Firouzabadi believes in the “annihilation” of Israel and is a supporter of former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
