Tension along Tamabil border

:butcher: ANOTHER 13.5 ACRES OF GOAINGHAT TO INDIA

Everything is set for conceding another 13.5 acres of cultivable land to India at Kulum Chhara in Goainghat upazila tomorrow ( Monday). Bangladesh survey officials in the Indo- Bangla Joint Border Demarcation team said it was agreed to set bamboo pillars inside Bangladesh at Kulum Chhara border conceding 13.50 acres. Confirming the decision ADC (Revenue) Ahmed Shamim Al Rajee told UNB that demarcation and setting of bamoo pillars at Kulum Chhara border are scheduled for tomorrow. Law enforcing agencies including police, BGB and plain clothed security officials are being deployed in the area so that the joint border demarcation team can carry out its task without any disturbance, officials said. Kulum Chhara area is in addition to 261 acres, including Padua, in Goainghat border already conceded to India during the last two weeks. Bamboo pillars have been set on the new line of border despite angry demonstrations by villagers. Lamenting at the loss of their crop lands, farmers in these areas said Indians are not allowing them to go to their land, which they cultivated for ages. BSF threatens to shoot them if they venture to cultivate the newly demarcated lands. Dildar Hossain, former MP of the area said the villagers under the banner of ‘ Amra Simantabashi (We the residents of the border)’ will launch vigorous movement after the Ramadan to thwart the government move to handover the lands to India which the farmers used to cultivate for ages. He questioned the necessity of fresh demarcation of border and viewed that the present subservient government has taken the step to handover certain areas of Bangladesh territory to India.

today monday night..has it been handovered yet??:undecided:

The AL are socialists. But then, all of them are rich. Back in the 90's all of the government run industries were looted by AL men. I'd suppose they are more like thieves than socialists
Socialism never works. The new constitutions changes : democracy, secularism, socialism and nationalism, all four are pretty much a failed ideology at least in Bangladesh. We have to replace socialism with a more flexible ideology, preferably free market like the one Zia used during his period.

I agree. I actually despise the idea. I consider myself a liberal Capitalist who's pretty indifferent to religion.

Communism/Socialism are failed concepts - it's been proven time and again. It only works if it's a small country, small population and abundant resources. There are reasons why China opted for a free market economy. Hell, even resource rich USSR failed.

.
Capitalism only increases the divide between the poor and rich, the haves and the have nots, the urban and the rural.

Unless there is social net, it causes problems.

India's GDP is impressive, but the social sector is falling behind.

One of the Malnutrition's cause is the rural folks thinking packaged food is being 'modern' and they are taking to it since it is labour saving'

Take the case of Maggi Noodles, which has no nutrition value. It is being used as a substitute for a meal since it is filling and the tastemaker titillates the palate. If malnutrition does not hit them, then what will? The wash it down with a Cola, which is also a health hazard!

Why should there be any tension at the Tamabil border?

“Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s, and unto God the things that are God’s” as the Bible says.

.
Forget about any action, I only want to know what our Army think/feels of this problems.

Feeling we need,
Policy we need,
Power we need,
Silence, we don't need!

Sad to say, like every other institution in Bangladesh our army is divided into awamileague and bnp. All the major post is now controlled by Awami minder officers.. Nothing to do..

i don't know why it is so hard to understand for Bangladeshis that it is part of land swapping deal, if u are losing a portion of land u'll get another portion of land. what is so complicated in it????????

Actually, I want to say, what India does, we need to do same to preserve our interests.

If India feels its interests, why don't we?
If India has policy, why don't we have?
If India needs muscles to show, why dont we response a bit?

Why AL-ideology followers have nothing to think against India?
It that written in AL's script to do compromise regarding BD's interests if those go against India?
They can not feel proud about 71, if they compromise now!
Seeing these, now it is easy to feel indifferent for me. It's like....... who cares!

The current AL are like children, spoon-fed by India

During the previous BNP administration, they planted neem trees in one part of Uttara. When the AL came to power, they were all chopped down and planted new ones

See, the AL think like children. And this mentality is very dangerous for our country.

You can't be serious!

About the cutting down trees part, yes I am serious. Am not lying.

I know you are not lying since you don't do so in any of your post.

I was merely astounded at such juvenile behaviour by senior political leaders!!

Bangladeshis on this forum are biggest hypocrites i 've ever seen. i have never seen a single bangladeshi member here openly condemning pakistan for 1971 acts but they curse india to hell even if a single intruder or smuggler is killed.

i have sneaking suspicion that they were anti India since the beginning of formation of Pakistan. But all the action was taking place in the west. Now its their turn to show us that they are no push overs.

Just tell uncle Singh & Co to behave. Everything will be alright. Even the British had a very rough time with us Bangalis. And thanks for cooperating in '71!
