you either invest in your people or they make others better with their skills.

There was total lack from leadership of the country to ever invest for the future of country. Infact, they were quite happy as they don't need to take blame and talent runs abroad. The sabotage tactics. However, few institutions kept sponsoring people as per their budget and only the number required to run their affairs.

Their was no vision from political leadership to invest into such a futuristic projects or initiate studies which could lead us towards self reliance in Civil development and Defence sectors. It always depends upon the leadership and let's see if still, talent hunt is left to particular institutes to fulfill their need. It's easy for people to blame institute for anything but you will never find a single study project or investing for talent by Civil leadership, therefore, it was the particular institute that had to reach certain students, sponsor them as per budgetary limits and hire them as per available resources. Despite the lack of honest and capable leadership, few institutes still managed to survive just for the nation.

We as a nation, really.needs an overhaul as the leadership comes from us. The one we choose is the one who serve as he or she is capable of. We the public in the first place, have to make right choice. Later, it's complains like we do. If still, it doesn't move us, alas my friend, I see nothing but our own destruction by our hands.

Talent without an enabling environment to translate talent to impact, is just a wasted potential. Pakistan needs to initiate bold initiatives such as public private electric vehicles manufacturing and space program to direct these talent to real world impact and leap frog Pakistan to technology based economy. There’s enough money to fund such programs if Pakistan can stop wasting more than $10-billion each year on PIA, PSM and Pakistan Railways.

Lovely.... True Pakistani 'ghar mein ghus kay' style.

Well done boys and girls. Unfortunately Pakistan isn't developed enough or has sufficient industry to make use of their talent.

I'd say, Pakistan isn't visionary enough to leverage their talent. It's OK to be behind others as long as you work to catch-up. So, we could use these kids to help set-up the foundation for amazing stuff 10-15 years down the line (by which point, these kids should be director-level heads of said programs).

The issue is that we don't, full-stop. Instead, we're either too tired and fed-up as a society to care, or our leaders are uninterested. It's as simple as that. However, if we do turn it around from the top, then yes, we can utilize all of this talent (albeit to catch up), and yes, we will move ahead.
