Actually Imran Khan was taxing more than this PMLN government to first three slabs, PMLN is taxing more to those who are earning more. Imran Khan was taxing more to those who were earning less. Still PMLN should give more relief to salaried class.

So give releif in here and then increase the electricity rate all together (Y) to balance that out.

It was "commitment" with IMF.

I have shared two news items in both PTI government committed with IMF that they will increase the tax on salaried class, the Tribune story reveals that IMF want a uniform tax of 30% on salaried class earning between 104K to 1M, higher tax on earning of more than 1M.

Increasing tax revenues should have been done through widening of tax base.

And reducing government related expenses. But expecting good from these corrupts is too much of an ask.

An effective way to increase taxes is to prevent the rich from evading taxes. Investment, consumption and export are the three carriages of national economic growth. Attracting foreign investment in industrial areas should be a priority of the government. It can increase employment and increase exports. Increasing taxes on ordinary people is not conducive to economic growth.
