Target met, PAC produced 16 JF-17 aircrafts in 2015: 4th JF-17 Thunder squadron complete

Contrary to sensless statements coming out of Pakistan. It has become more of routine for our Airforce to obscure facts contrary to visible evidence coming out of other sources. It is not possible only 16 JF-17 were produced because

In January 2015, JF-17 0213 were revealed in china

How come from January 2015 to December 2015, Only 3 JF-17's were produced ? Impossible

Then JF-17 229 came in to picture in November 2015. This picture was posted by official chinese sources which indicate another JF production line setup in china. We can clearly see two JF-17 in the workshop

So as per my understanding, there were 30 JF-17 produced from June 2014- December 2015. PAC may have produced 16 JF-17's while China may have produced rest of the 14 for the export customer.

There was another thread with a same picture, which said one JF17,a production of batch made in Pak was sent to Pakistan to undertake research work for JF Bk 2 version. They are testing for a second prototype in China with them developing it.

.
Not to forget PAC Kamra also had its hands full upgrading all JF-17 Block-1s to Block-2 standard. So was a very busy year for them.

.
As per information received from a close friend, a PAF officer, he mentioned that 77 JF-17s have been produced till date. As mentioned by other members in this forum, may be they are being tested right now and after the production of say another 3 fighters, full strength squadron may be handed over to PAF.

koi banda mujhy us jf17 jet ki pic dikha sakta ha jis main air refueling wala masla hal hogya ho ???

i am reading it since 2008

IFR isn't a big priority bhai jaan.

JF-17s role is ADA (which means to intercept enemy jets as they enter Pakistan's border).

So much fuel you need for that? From forward bases to edge of our airspace---JF-17's will need 10mins maximum--and then engagements will last, 30 mins or 40 mins MAXIMUM, with most engagements lasting 15 mins on average.

So JF-17 would have enough fuel to fly, fight, complete its role, come back and land safely.

At the very minimum, JF-17 carries fuel to flying 45 minutes to an hour per sortie. For ADA role in a small country like Pak--this is sufficient.

So AUz what you have mentioned here is not the full fuel capacity which means it can fly further long sorties if fully fueled and I think the best way to fully fuel an aircraft is to fly it with enough fuel then fill their tanks in the air so it can carry more load and can fly further in the case of long strike.

.
To be really honest in this age and day , to produce only 16 planes is not an achievement
Production levels were slow in all past 5 year only peaking once to double digit

Few year back people were estimating us to have 150 JF17 Thunders (Block 1 - Block2) flying
However we only have made about 60 planes !!

2007 ->2 (Acceptable)
2008 ->6 (Ok fine .. ppl were learning)
2009 ->4 (Below average)
2010 ->8 (Below average)
2011 ->14 (OK)
2012 ->2 WTF (FAIL)
2013 ->14 (OK)
2014 ->??? (Not sure what happened this year)
2015 ->16 (Now we have met qouta)

There is some lack of consistency in production levels , which is sad we should be making 20-25 Jets a year

The work on Blk II and up-gradation of Blk I to Blk II standard is the main reason. PLUS PAF is rightly not rushing into things. We plan to upgrade this plan through block wise production and need detailed evaluation of previous ones and that takes time. 65-70 odd planes manufactured so far is quite good and satisfactory if we keep on going with the planned upgrades and developments.

But there was one article which does make alot of sense , its not the machine mate which gets tired its the human within it actually .

Engagement of 5 mins in real combat surely can drain down enough energies from the pilot that he/she need to come back ..
