The spokesperson stated that authorities have decided to increase production capabilities
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Spokesperson for the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Monday has said that Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has achieved its annual production goal.

In a statement issued, the spokesperson stated that authorities have decided to increase aeronautical complex’s production capabilities.

The complex has handed over 16th JF-17 Thunder aircraft to the air force in the ongoing year.

Earlier in September, Kamra complex had made the Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS) aircraft operational on half the cost as compared to foreign companies. As a result, USD 15 million were saved due to the indigenous repair to the aircraft. Feasibility study of Gwadar deep waters shipyard was also completed.

The aircraft had been damaged in an attack by terrorists during on Kamra aeronautical complex.

To be really honest in this age and day , to produce only 16 planes is not an achievement
Production levels were slow in all past 5 year only peaking once to double digit

Few year back people were estimating us to have 150 JF17 Thunders (Block 1 - Block2) flying
However we only have made about 60 planes !!

2007 ->2 (Acceptable)
2008 ->6 (Ok fine .. ppl were learning)
2009 ->4 (Below average)
2010 ->8 (Below average)
2011 ->14 (OK)
2012 ->2 WTF (FAIL)
2013 ->14 (OK)
2014 ->??? (Not sure what happened this year)
2015 ->16 (Now we have met qouta)

There is some lack of consistency in production levels , which is sad we should be making 20-25 Jets a year

NO matter how smart or hard working you are, your growth graph has to go up and down before you start climbing steeply. While there is already a margin of improvement, we shouldn't let real effort go without compliments.

Have faith, there will be 24 units as mentioned by PAF Chief.

From what i have heard is that a new facility is being constructed in Sindh similar to kamra just to increase production of jf 17

Very interesting development indeed. This shows some hidden progress they had made so far in areas of composite materials and probably they are at least refurbishing the sub systems of SAAB 2000 and its sensor systems which may probably included some technology built with their help.

In addition I believe PAC is going to increase its production in order to meet the demands of PAF current fleet replenishment but also shows they have some solid commitments of third parties to purchase JFT which can also be determined by looking into total overhauling and building its spares at home of RD-93 which will increase the reliability of project and bring confidence to third party so they may not need to have run here and there to keep their fighter in air.

Well it has to certainly get completed , and ideally if we also had facility in Baluchistan would be great due to ideal location for testing aircraft's in remote areas

20-25 planes is reasonable goal

We have 180-250 old aircrafts to replace

2012 is due to the flood
2014 is due to lack of funding for block II

The big plus in delay is that we we will have higher % of high quality Block 2 and Block 3 numbers

Are there any updates on this alleged new facility when it will be operational?

So 60 to 65 JF-17 Thunders are present in PAF's inventory?

Interesting.
