Tank Ambush at Kushtia

At least know your history, you guys have been fed such a doctored history. Far from the truth and far from anything to do with reality.
Violence was started by the terrorists, whom you have been mislead to believe to be freedom fighters...

"It is necessary that this painful chapter of the events in East Pakistan be looked at in its proper perspective. Let it not be forgotten that the initiative in resorting to violence and cruelty was taken by the militants of the Awami League, during the month of March, 1971, following General Yahya Khan's announcement of the 1st of March regarding the postponement of the session of the National Assembly scheduled for the 3rd of March 1971. It will be recalled that from the 1st of March to the 3rd of March 1971, the Awami League had taken complete control of East Pakistan, paralysing the authority of the federal government. There is reliable evidence to show that during this period the miscreants indulged in large scale massacres and rape against pro-Pakistan elements, in the towns of Dacca, Narayanganj, Chittagong, Chandraghona, Rangamati, Khulna, Dinajpur, Ghafargaoa, Kushtia, Ishurdi, Noakhali, Sylhet, Maulvi Bazaar, Rangpur, Saidpur, Jessore,Barisal, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajgonj, Comilla, Brahmanbaria, Bogra, Naogaon, Santahar, and several other smaller places.

Harrowing tales of these atrocities were narrated by the large number of West Pakistanis and Biharis who were able to escape from these places and reach the safety of West Pakistan. For days on end, all through the troubled month of March 1971, swarms of terrorised non-Bengalis lay at the Army-controlled Dacca airport awaiting their turn to be taken to the safety of West Pakistan. Families of West Pakistani officers and other ranks serving with East Bengal units were subjected to inhuman treatment, and a large number of West Pakistani officers were butchered by the erstwhile Bengali colleagues.

These atrocities were completely blacked out at the time by the Government of Pakistan for fear of retaliation by the Bengalis living in West Pakistan. The Federal Government did issue a White Paper in this behalf in August 1971, but unfortunately it did not create much impact for the reason that it was highly belated, and adequate publicity was not given to it in the national and international press.

However, recently, a renowned journalist of high-standing, Mr.Qutubuddin Aziz, has taken pains to marshal the evidence in a publication called "Blood and Tears." The book contains the harrowing tales of inhuman crimes committed on the helpless Biharis, West Pakistanis and patriotic Bengalis living in East Pakistan during that period. According to various estimates mentioned by Mr. Qutubuddin Aziz, between 100,000 and 500,000 persons were slaughtered during this period by the Awami League militants. [1]

So my question is? Why did you kill civillians as well as Awamis? I don't think killing children and raping women can eliminate Awami bla bla...

Biharis will have their time in history, don't you worry.

Don't worry, they'll be shifted ( kicked away ) to Pakistan when your government lets allows them.

So the terrorists involved in an attack by ISIS was actually done by ISI?

Thats not even ISIS,those are the JMB local home-made terrorists pretending as ISIS ( by Tamim and co ).And JMB is pro-Pakistani.

Done it for you, these guys need to learn their history. A big problem with Bangladeshis really

Well,thats only Pakistani proganada,not history...

Imran Khan , stop being a bigot and grow up already.

Well,he can vent his anti-BD anger...but I'd suggest him to vent it in the toilet, not on PDF.He was like "Abhi to party shuru huyi hai" during the attack on gulshan cafe,so I suspect hes a terrorist...

.
So Phoenix...no counter? terrorism was started by awamis. Pakistan army only retaliated, we never started anything.

How else do you react to terrorists creating havoc in your state. Killing and raping Bangladeshis? Do you let them to continue violence or stop them?
PS: Awamis killed more Bangladeshis than Pakistan army ever did. I feel sorry for you guys and the crap you have been fed.

You are such a bigot and a disgrace to your forefathers who have a history fighting against slavery and for freedom. Un-educated youth.

So you disagree with facts? your forefathers didn't fight against the British and other invaders and against slavery in general? and now as a disgrace you advocate and do the very thing they fought against:lol:. and one is insulted by his history maybe.

Check the source before calling it a propaganda, your terrorist started killing Bangladeshis, Pakistan army retaliated. Your terrorist were already trained for this purpose. Best part is you people refer to them as freedom fighters when in reality they killed more Bangladeshis than anyone.

@WAJsal

Suggest you to read the ICJ report on East pakistan sequence of events.

http://icj.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/...st-Pakistan-1971-thematic-report-1972-eng.pdf

The events at Chittagong on the night of 3/4 March are described as follow in the Pakistan White Paper:

At Chittagong, violent mobs led by Awami League storm troopers attacked the Wireless Colony and several other localities, committing wanton acts of loot, arson, killing and rape. In one locality (Ferozeshah Colony), 700 houses were set on fire and their inmates including men, women and children were burnt to death. Those who tried to flee, were either killed or seriously wounded. Apart from those burnt alive, whose bodies were found later, over 300 persons were killed or wounded on 3 and 4 March.’

1 According to information received from foreign nationals in Chittagong, which is believed to be reliable, the incident began when Bengali demonstrators passed in procession through Bihari areas in order to make the Biharis keep to the hartal. The demonstrators were fired upon by Biharis, and a serious riot followed in which people were killed on both sides and a substantial number of Bihari houses were burnt.

I will try, not enough free time. Anyway point corrected i guess, Pakistan army didn't launch operation Search light for the sake of it, it was launched in retaliation to all the terrorists attacks that were happening. Bangladeshi members need to read real history and not doctored one.

In fact if I remember correctly, pak army opened fire on unarmed civilian on March 1 where 200 of bengalis dies. Later they were ordered to go back in barracks only to come out after Mar 25 when political solution could not be attained.

Try to read this report, along with Hamid ur Rehman. That will give you a better insight.

1) It is not a proper answer to the question asked by @Phoenix. He asked you why did your military raped women and killed children, even if the Bangali Awamis did the same. It is not that a military should act worse than the Awamis. Military was supposed to bring the peace back to east Pakistan. Instead, the Jawans went out to show their strength with the help of guns, which the common people lacked in the east. Why to blame the Awamis when your own hand slapped your face? PA Jawans of west Pakistan are fully responsible for their defeat in 1971.

Why the Bangali Awamis had chosen to kill the Biharis and other non-Bengalis? It was because we became desperate as the west Pakistani Clique was not willing to accept the election result. What other path the Awamis had with a group of people who disrespect the verdict of election? What would you guys would have done under a similar situation? We just did not want to be the slave of west Pakistan through the military.

2) No, Awamis did not kill more Bangalis than the brute PA did. We also have eyes to see what really happened in 1971.

3) Your choice of words to scold @Phoenix was inappropriate and unwarrented. Read his many other posts. He is highly educated and knows well about many subjects. He deserves an outright apology from you.

Pakistan may have drawn the first blood, but remember that it was Mujib-ur-Rehman who declared an "all out struggle".
The "war" was declared, it was Pakistan which struck first.
really .. why west pakistanis led by Bhutto and Yahya did not allow Muzib to form govt ?

really .. why west pakistanis led by Bhutto and Yahya did not allow Muzib to form govt ?
Read about Mujib's points which he used to rally the support :
The constitution should provide for a Federation of Pakistan based on the Lahore Resolution, in its true sense based on the parliamentary form of government with supremacy of a Legislature directly elected on the basis of universal adult franchise.[1]
The federal government should deal with only two subjects: Defence and Foreign Affairs, and all other residual subjects should be vested in the federating states.[1]
Two separate, but freely convertible currencies for two wings should be introduced; or if this is not feasible, there should be one currency for the whole country, but effective constitutional provisions should be introduced to stop the flight of capital from East to West Pakistan. Furthermore, a separate Banking Reserve should be established and separate fiscal and monetary policy be adopted for East Pakistan.[1]
The power of taxation and revenue collection should be vested in the federating units and the federal centre would have no such power. The federation would be entitled to a share in the state taxes to meet its expenditures.[1]
There should be two separate accounts for the foreign exchange earnings of the two wings; the foreign exchange requirements of the federal government should be met by the two wings equally or in a ratio to be fixed; indigenous products should move free of duty between the two wings, and the constitution should empower the units to establish trade links with foreign countries.[1]
East Pakistan should have a separate military or paramilitary force, and Navy headquarters should be in East Pakistan.[1]

Now you may think this is all fine and "equal" but the fact was, these points were made to settle scores against West Pakistan. Note that although I'm against the actions of Bhutto, I disagree that the Six Point's should ever be entertained, these points would've ensured the destruction of West Pakistan entirely in the long term.

lol majority of people accepted the six points and voted for it . The need of Six Points emerged after continuous treatment of east Pakistan by western unit!

Explain. How?

He asked you why did your military raped women and killed children,
He said, Pakistani military started it. Or drew first blood to be more specific, which is not correct.
There were cases of rapes and killings by PA officers, but nothing compared to what Awamis had done. Conduct of the army in general was poor.
What other path the Awamis had with a group of people who disrespect the verdict of election? What would you guys would have done under a similar situation? We just did not want to be the slave of west Pakistan through the military.
Resorting to terrorism was not the only option left, but then again that's what you were being trained for years down the lane. You could have remained peaceful and eventually East Pakistani people would have caught hold of the truth, you see people here didn't know what was happening. We were being told that India attacked West Pakistan and took over it and etc, etc. Bangladeshi nationals should have remained peaceful instead of resorting to violence, this you must agree with. And i have already sahred my opinion on PA role in Bangladesh.
2) No, Awamis did not kill more Bangalis than the brute PA did. We also have eyes to see what really happened in 1971.
Your eyes and their hypocrisy. You guys have no problem with what you did with Biharis or pro-Pakistani Bangladeshis. Save me the fanciful figures...

I can't help myself sometimes, sorry for tackling a person advocating slavery and justifying it. On Biharis to be more specific, read previous comments quoted by me, the original post was deleted.

Six points were fancy words for a different federation.

You are citing Awami League's election manifesto. It has no meaning in a Parliamentary discussion. PAL would have required a 2/3rd majority to realize its election agenda. Sk. Mujib could not have unilaterally changed a Constitution or imposed one. Please do not talk lame excuses when President Yahya cancelled Parliament of 25th March without ever asking the majority Leader.
