Probably because the British has given Free land to the christian missionaries to set up schools and churches, not to mention all those churches built up by the Portuguese by demolishing the Hindu temples and then claiming that "st thomas" is buried there.(after being "killed" by vegetarian brahmins)

Probably because of the lop sided laws that make it easier for "minorities" to open up "minority institution" than for a Hindu to open up a decent school.

Sorry to say but in the next gen election in TN, BJP will have no seat... at least now they've 1 seat now that also will be disappear in the next election.... now there's a strong deep anti-bjp sentiment going on in TN

you got it wrong, its because in the Hindu dharma, except brahmins and upper caste Hindus, the lower castes are not entitled to acquire wealth, knowledge or education. This is to ensure Brahmins hold on power to rule and dominate, especially the lower castes - sudras and dalits. This religious based social terrorism by brahmins through gurukula education system for decades had deprived the major population of education and remained illiterates.

Arrival of Islam (through conversion) and Christianity (through missionary education) brought about some social economical relief to their status

Bjp is not serious about building its neither any cadre nor eyeing for a significant role in state politics. Apart from this TN politics has never been seriously for what bjp fight for, TN has got its own politics of Dravidian vs non Dravidian where bjp might not have any chance to even get some political ground.
