COIMBATORE/TIRUPUR: DMK has hit back at BJP leaders Pon Radhakrishnan and Tamilisai Soundararajan, who alleged that there were extremists in the state, saying there won’t be any such element if the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were to be sent away from Tamil Nadu.
“Once the BJP and RSS are forced out of the state, all other extremist elements would also go,’’ DMK Rajya Sabha MP M K Kanimozhi said here on Wednesday. She was in the city to attend the meeting of DMK women’s wing members.

Later in the day, she reiterated the same point in Tirupur, where too she participated in the party women’s wing meeting. Maintaining that radicalism was spread in the state only through RSS, Kanimozhi said, “When we (DMK) come to power, we will wipe away these extremist elements.’’

The Rajya Sabha MP also took a dig at the BJP government at the Centre, saying the Narendra Modi dispensation should be ashamed of making India an unsafe country for women.

“India tops the nations with least safety for women. This is despite the tall claims made by the BJP-led central government that it was portraying women as goddess. This is how the BJP has turned the country,” Kanimozhi said, adding, “Despite the war in their countries, the situation was better for women in Syria and Afghanistan.”

On the state government’s alleged high-handed effort to implement the eight-lane green expressway project between Salem and Chennai, Kanimozhi said the government cannot ignore the sentiments of public. “DMK is not a party that opposes development. But why is the government rushing the project even without getting feedback from the people?’’ she asked.

On police arresting the people, who are opposing the green corridor project, Kanimozhi alleged that the police firing in Thoothukudi was a ‘premeditated murder’ to silence all future protests against the state government.

At Coimbatore, she also slammed the city corporation’s move to privatise the water supply scheme.

She said AIADMK was a party of contradictions, where two people who attacked each other were now displaying an opportunistic unity.

LOL LOL. This dumbshit can't even name her MLA's in that region. Coimbatore has a mixed issue because Hindus are larger in number. Migrant Christians from Kerela are causing quite a strife and there is a group which goes inside gated communities to convert people to Christianity. And then there are Muslims who are in the center of the city becoming a buffer between Christians and Hindus, Nowadays there is a widespread of Wahhabism which also adds fuel to the fire. It's like a love triangle. when the other community feels there is a growth in number in other community then they grow that hatred and become too much into their own orthodox way.
