ISLAMABAD: After the passage of seven years, the federal government has told the Supreme Court that the incident of whipping of a woman in Swat during Taliban’s rule in 2009 had never taken place and that the video footage was fake

Swat was a gamble taken by govt at the time to lure them in one place and then kill of them . Govt gave the militants a place to gather so that it would be easy for the govt to kill all of them in one go . It was a tactical move .

KABUL – In what appears to be a strange move, the Afghan Taliban have released a drone footage showing a suicide bomber blowing himself up inside a police base in Helmend province.

Although drone camera has been used by tech-savvy Islamist groups fighting in Iraq and Syria but the latest aerial video by Afghan Taliban is unusual.

The 23 minutes long video begins with the purported suicide bomber speaking in front of a military vehicle, provided to Afghan forces by American advisers.

“This is the happiest moment of my life,” the man said, clad in a black turban and white tunic.

“I am telling the Afghan stooge forces to repent and join the Taliban or we will use this equipment the foreigners gave them, against them and they can’t do anything about it” he added.

Later, a drone-mounted camera captures the harrowing moments when the vehicle enters into the middle of the base without much resistance before being detonated.

A government official in Helmand said the district police chief and several other officials were killed in the attack on Oct 3. The official, who spoke anonymously, claimed the video depicting the attack appeared to be authentic.

SWAT: As peace returned to the scenic Swat Valley, so did foreign tourists.

The interior minister relaxed a rule which required all foreigners to obtain a No Objection Certificate to travel to the Malakand Division this year. As a result, a steady stream of tourist made their way to the valley, residents said.

“I was surprised to see such similarities in our cultures. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful relics which reminded me of the rich Buddhist past this area enjoys,” said a tourist.

Swat is an ideal holiday spot for Buddhist tourism. This is where the first Buddhist university was established. Budha stayed here and preached to the people of this valley.

Swat has 25 archeological sites that interest history lovers. It has ice-cold gushing rivers and the White Palace which was carved out of the same marble as the Taj Mahal.

Have a look at the pictures above as to how fast swat is developing . Afghanistan should learn a thing or two as to how its done
