The Taliban has announced its interim government in Afghanistan. Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund has been made the new Prime Minister of the country, while Sheikh Maulvi Noorullah Munir has been given charge of the Ministry of Education.

Meanwhile, since the formation of the government, Taliban edicts have started coming in, including the controversial statement of the new Education Minister Noorullah Munir. Munir said there is no point in pursuing a PhD or any other master’s degree these days. “We don’t have a degree, yet we are running the government,” Munir said.
