Yaara, Power corrupts.. I have seen it happen to myself at work.. So, these guys have unlimited power.. no one will lay down because of goodness of their hearts. Kingdoms have to go, if society has to evolve.. but look at whole of middle (or muddle) east. Having said that, i don't know if these countries are ready for democracy as well anymore.. would be civil wars.. so, it is a bit of damned if you do it, damned if you don;t...
