Take Tajikistan, but give Afghanistan to India: Ghani’s proposal to Pakistan can change the ...

You want to buy peanut from Kabul from Delhi? Yes sir. Okay me send truck 1,000 miles to Mumbai. Ship take truck to Chah Bahar another 800 miles. Truck drives north through Iran across into Afghanistan, drive 1,000 miles to Kabul. Here is your peeeeeNut that travelled nearly 2,700 miles. Take about 5 days at best.

Pakistan influence is over ... ha ha ha !

or just 600 miles through Pakistan in less than day !

Edit: Even NATO and US found that the most effective transport into Afghanistan was through Khyber Pass, Pakistan and thats why 80% of NATO supply was through Pakistan. As said above Kabul and other centres of population are next to Pak border in fact Kabul is only 120 miles from Peshawar and just 220 miles from Islamabad. For referance Delhi is nearly 400 miles from Islamabad.

Many Indians rely on geographical maps drawn up by VHP goons.

So in their minds, Dilhi mumbai chahbar Kandhar kabul is much shorter and viable compared to Karachi route.

If hosting, at times 1 in 6 Afghans alive for 30 years has not made Afghans our friends -- nothing will in the short term.

What is surprising is that rather than be grateful -- Afghans resent that they have to rely on Pakistan for access to the sea -- go figure.

We can revisit friendship with Afghans in 30 years for now let's focus on friendship with China.

Before Ashraf Ghani became president he threatened Pakistan with a 6 generation war (or was it 3) -- that is Pakistan's status with the Afghan people.

Further what Ghani sab conveniently left out is that Afghanistan's access to China is through Pakistan too ;-) -- perhaps like Karzai he has a penchant for smoking Afghanistan's major export too ;-)

fair but you have to learn to see their perspectives too. They believe with justification that the problems that caused the refugees to flee in the first place was due to Pakistani games. Afghans are quite convinced, again with justification, that Pakistan is behind militancy including arming factions of Taleban.

The refugee crisis happened because the PDP Government invited the USSR in -- as some Afghans like to claim: the USSR invaded.

According to the Afghans, it has always been Paksitan's fault and it will remain to be so --until Afghans soul search and come to the conclusion that they've burt their house down. Until that happens no amount of bearing gifts is going to help.

exactly. And on top of that when Pakistan falls into these traps such as saying no for the sake of showing hubris, it simply plays into the hands of the border rifters. Not unlike what your army establishment has been doing

I'm sorry but this went over my head -- simpler English please

I dont really understand why Pakistan and India cant caste away their differences at least economically and trade with each other just like East Asian countries do. Whats wrong with you people in South Asia for GODS sake?:what: You are already the poorest and most backward/least intergrated region in Asia and the world, yet you people dont even care nor have any intention of changing things....jeez this region seems to be curse. China, Japan, Korea all have issues/differences/hatred among them, yet they dont let that get in the way of trade/business/investments from each other. Reason East Asia is sooo prosperous to the point that for an outsider like me visiting the two regions(i.e south Asia and east Asia) for the first time i was shocked, since it was like leaving europe for the poorest regions in Africa(only tht most african countries are better off than even south asia.:tsk:). South Asia really needs to wake up and be more pragmatic to be honest. And yes that will mean Pakistan will need to stop its paranoia about India and open up for trade since it too will benefit alot from this. Aid can never be of aid to a country, TRADE is and has always been the case.

On anothr note, you shouldnt have mentioned China in this to be honest, since they have far more influence/business/trade and friendly relations with Iran than India, and they also have a land connectivity/route to Afghanistan which gives them more leeway over these countries than India, so i dont think you should mix them(again this shows the loser zero sum game mentality you south Asians have) with Pakistan.

Spot on bro. well said. however im afraid your advice will fall on deaf ears to indians and pakistanis. so please safe your energy.lol

You are absolutely right and its also just sad to see countries in this region which cant afford basic services to its people, take huge loans in order to buy expensive weapons, I mean you don't need to be a genius to see the stupidity in all this.

As Ashraf Ghani mentioned several times this region needs a new narrative, something on the lines of German-France who were in constant conflict for some many years but look at them now they are prospering together...

I know its a long shot but I do hope that people in the region actually grow up a bit and see the bigger picture, I as an Afghan find it depressing that so many well educated Pakistanis and Indians are still bent on squabbling and missing the bigger picture which is " Our people are barely surviving, making more nukes wont help, give them better hospital, better schools and better social security" !!!

/Peace

Ghani; You can keep Tajikistan rout to ur self. we dont need it.
Afghanistan must know what is India to us, an Enemy, hence if they want to sleep with our enemy they are welcome.

Chahbahar is still long way from completion. count the chickens that are in ur hatched.

Ops you dont have any hatched ones ; ok then you can count Chahbahar.

True,, but you seem to be blaming ONLY Pakistan. Im blaming both Pakistan and even more so INDIA. Since India being the biggest country/power in South Asia ought to lead by example, yet India is also paranoid as well. For example reading news like this only happens in South Asia:
Ban on ZPMC cranes to hurt Indian ports - Livemint

If you can ban even a port crane manufacturer for so called 'security reasons' that means something is definitely wrong with that country.:tsk: ONLY IN SOUTH ASIA does this happens.:what:
