Syria Violence: 200 People Killed In Assault By Government Forces

Off Topic:

Has anybody studied this in Math,

These models are not difficult math. It was part of my college math class back in the days. I am just making a point that PR has been perfected in the West.

These models are used in PR campain whether its political, international ( such as this or Libya), public service or awareness.

Guys like Bashar has no idea what they are up against.

Dude i have worked on it.....
Now network structures, age structure etc. are incorporated in studying this phenomenon.
Use of Agent based Modeling, Nonlinear Differential Equations and Partial Differential Equations are used.

If you say these are rumors then these same models are applied in diffusion of new ideas, like Syrian protestors, and people in support of them.

. .
where did you find they have weapons?

I do not know, how do you know they do not have weapons? At least I know that there are some news about the rebels were attacking, the Syrian government does not attack them to attack civilians, they are so laid-back?

You probably heard of the Occupy movment here in USA. The movement has seen skirmishes with police, but nothing too violent. Nobody died in this movement so far. The news is not in the front news. What will happen when both side are facing each other and shots are fired. The dynamics of that will be a whole different ball game. If that involves death, the rumours will spread in all direction.

It takes very little to dissiminate the message to the target audience if you know how to do it.

.
Spreading of rumor depends on critical number of rumor spreading people. There are factors like credibility of news, media coverage, here the media is the rumor spreading people, this is represented by word of mouth, and social influence, people generally adopt a belief if particular number of people in their neighborhood adopts an ideology(rumor in this case). The speed of diffusion rumors is governed by these factors. People who used to believe in a particular rumor when stop believing it, they start playing important role in decrease in this rate.
So main factor is.... how credible news is, if BBC, CNN, Reuters, etc are reporting which have such a large audience who believes on these source, then i think their news become truth and counter news becomes a rumor.

I have not seen outright lies in the Media, but half truths, "unconfirmed reports", "there are reports". These always give you the option to correct yourself later on. When people see news on CNN, AL Jazeera and BBC, they don't think what 'unconfirmed news' means. They take it as true. Thats the reality.

I have been asking a lot on this thread to tell be which source should be considered credible. Should we wait for so called information from "credible" source. If you don't believe in preliminary reports, or unconfirmed news, then should we wait to go there after the crisis is over and what will you think if you see hundreds of civilians murdered. Wouldn't you think IF we have acted earlier, we could have saved so many lives.
Its always better to be safe than sorry.

Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar and the west would love noting more then Assad to fall however many have seem to forgotten the lessons of Iraq. Syria's President now has achieved his goal if he falls there would be a full on civil war between the Majority Sunni Muslims and the Alwai Muslims, Christians, basically anyone that supports Assad .we will likely see another Iraq again.

.
France seems pretty Intent on Intervening, it wants more influence and was one of the first countries calling for an intervention.

Yeah many experts have also highlighted this likely outcome of fall of Assad. Hope it doesn't happen but again its a long shot.

P.S.- How are you man...long time no see

People denied it would happen if Saddam fell however it did, Intervention would make it even worse. only Russia can in my opinion can change this.

Same here been good.

India has already shown its anger over killing of innocent civilians and have said it will abide by UN resolution on this crisis. UN forces will interfere in this matter then.
