Syria is turning from civil war to regional war between neighboring countries

The civil war is almost over but the country is being carved by three powers who all have different goals. Turkey controls the North-West, USA controls the North East and Iran-Russia controls the South West.

It's now clear that Assad, the rebels and the Kurds no longer have any control in decision making.

So, what happens when all three powers finish their goals? Will they end up fighting each other?

Iran's end game is to keep Assad in power and establish a land corridor between Tehran and the Mediterranean (also known as Shia Crescent). Turkey and most Arab countries is completely against this.

US's end game is to Balkanize the country and establish a Kurdistan. Assad and Turkey is against this. Assad is using the "enemy of an enemy is my friend" card to ally with the Kurds to kick Turkey out first.

Turkey's end game is to remove the YPG-PKK, re-populate the refugees to the North and establish an administrative government. Iran and Assad is against this.

Nothing would have happened, neither in Syria nor any other Arab nations who faced similar crisis if the ruling government (rather dictators) accepted initial calls from the opposition or anyone else and stepped down and faced a free and fair general election. I mean if they think they have widespread support among their own people (as they were claiming), why so afraid to step down and face the elections ????

The shear arrogance of these self-proclaimed patriotic leaders and their governments are the real cause of the Arab spring and the subsequent sequence of unfortunate events.

Well, others (read Hawks) will obviously try and exploit any fault-lines in your nation.

This is what a sensible person would want but your president is playing for something bigger more than just a free zone to host syrian refugees inside syria .

Your government played a dirty role in destroying Syria , if you stayed out of it then the 3-4 million Syrian refugees would not be in Turkey today .
