What's new

Syed Zaid Zaman Hamid Tweets on Jhon Kerry's Visit

I agree with Zaid Hamid. I can see Indian jabronis can't handle the truth, like always. They just troll around & make fun.

Not really.

And it was nothing new. India has clarified time and again that we will not deploy our military but we will help in any training capacity(that we are) and in terms of whatever assets we can spare to give their Government, their military and their people.

Watch how the Afghan blowback starts against Pakistan again, though initially Pakistan will get relative peace before the jihad factory starts humming again in Afghanistan.

We instead have an airbase in Tajikistan for special needs.

I like Zaid Hamid. He always speaks the truth.

Zahid hamid is a joke. But India showed its hand too early in Afghanisan, you have no real influence outside Kabul and after avdullah abdullah and Karzai out of the picture that has also weakened.

Regarding the Jihad factory, is that a threat or an assessment? Clarify!

Regarding training, afghan security forces have been trained by Pakistan as well, I don't have time to post the pictures but if you search the forum you will find them.

Afghans from the east and north east of Afghanistan have a stronger affiliation with Pakistan whilst those from western side are more inclined towards Iran, Kabul was Indias power base.

Which is why I welcome it if India pumps more troops in to Afghanistan, helps China with a easy source of copper, which helps us in turn :P

Assessment. You know one can hardly make credible threats on an online forum. Once the Americans leave, there will be civil war and factionalism again. And the jihad factories will start humming again.

Pakistan Army will again get the bright idea that instead of fighting the jihadis, why not channel them to India - one stone two birds method.

And once again in a few years, your society will start accepting jihadis again and Pakistanis will start gravitating towards it.

Pakistan will only buy a few years worth of reprieve when Americans leave. The cycle will start again.

As far as Afghanistan is concerned, repeatedly made clear. No troops except to defend our assets like embassy.
All we want from Afghanistan are minerals. We are operating the largest mines there. All we want is evacuation of that to Iran. We made a highway just for that. And our port in Iran is finally now operational.

If we have to pay off the Talibs to get that done, we will. If we have to pay other warlords, we will. In the end for us the bottomline is simple - we need the minerals.
As far as we are concerned, nothing matters beyond that. What happens in Afghanistan affects you, not us.

It affects India on a very minute level. Not one that we particularly care about except for ensuring Afghanistan does not become an extension of Pakistan.

Even instability in Afghanistan suits us compared to a stability in which Afghanistan lets Pakistan decide its policies.

Afghanistan affects Iran and Pakistan most as they are neighbours.

For us there are only two goals in Afghanistan:
1. Prevent Afghanistan from becoming an extension of Pakistan
2. Ensuring evacuation of minerals and ores to Iran(and thereon to India)

That is your assessment and dare I say it, not very accurate. It will hamper India's search for minerals in Afghanistan, it will create a barrier for Indian to secure a road transit route into central Asia, it will effectively lead to the waste of Indian investment in the country, which is in the millions of $, Indian NGOs working in the county will have to pull out..

All of this leads to "lack of influence" the problem for India is that India bet on the wrong guy, you have no links with the Local Taliban or Warlords, so Baksheesh is out of the question, your companies insisted on hiring APL: American President Liners to do your haulage for you instead of Pakistani companies, now with the Americans pulling out, security for APL haulers is no longer guaranteed.

South of Kabul your friends are locked in a bitter power struggle and the NA is busy consolidating it's power base whilst working on "five cups of tea" with Iran, why shouldn't they...

Point being, that India for some reason was always very "over confident" about it's role in Afghanistan, despite the US and other observers mentioning otherwise. Instability in Afghanistan does not suit you because an insecure Afghanistan to Pakistan's western border = weaker Pakistan, a weaker Pakistan means a headache for India, a headache for India means an issue for the Asian Economy.

You can excavate the minerals, but how will you "extricate" them out from a land locked country? Flights? Be real for one moment... Consider why it is China is so successful in Afghanistan? They don't want to "change" the set up the locals prefer, they just make business deals with the locals and do what they have to do.

GoI feels that an unstable Pakistan/weaker Pakistan is better for India than a strong and stable Pakistan.

To that end, an unstable Afghanistan or a stable but anti-Pakistan Afghanistan or a stable but independent Afghanistan is preferred any day over a stable but pro-Pakistan Afghanistan.

All that needs to be done is haul the minerals out to the Iranian border. Iran and Afghanistan are also building a joint railway line. We have built the road that needs to be used to evacuate the minerals to Iran. Anyone who is anyone in Afghanistan is willing to cut deals if money is thrown. And we have the money to throw.

As far as Central Asia is concerned, please understand that we do not need Afghanistan for access to CA because we have Iran. Iran and China planned themselves and are investing billions of dollars in a cross country network of road and rails for improved trade. Once any product lands at Chabahar, it can move to any part of Central Asia, Turkey et all.

That is why Iran is the lynchpin of our plans for trade in Central Asia.

And we have started following the Chinese model now. We have started bribing, cajoling and threatening the local setup to get our ends instead of trying to change the setup or being sanctimonious. We have started doing this in numerous countries now.

1. The Chinese don't threaten and neither can you... You threaten someone in Afghanistan, the next day your depot is on fire and your country manager is bound and gagged... You think the ANP is loyal to Kabul?

2. An instable Pakistan = an Instable India... Don't believe me, look at Europe...

3. Afghanistan can't be Anti Pakistani because despite "your nations" best efforts, what you don't understand is that the human flow of traffic and trade at a micro level is centuries old, there may be anti Pakistani feelings in Kabul ( we know why) but that is not the case for the rest of Afghanistan... yes I have been there, worked there so I know, I speak from experience.

4. Iran is anti India and again I repeat, you get the minerals to Iran and then you will have to use sea freight to get your goods to your nation... Well done, good economic logic there chief. You can't beat or meet the Chinese model. China gets the minerals, the minerals come to our dry port in Quetta, from where is it sent straight to Gawadar or Karachi.

5. But that is the thing for CA your relationship with Iran is to put a CIA adviser "complicated", don't take my word for it: India's Relationship with Iran: It's Complicated | Brookings Institution

Iran's public have a very negative view of the Indian/Iranian relationship due to the oil export which is seen as Indian exploitation of Iran. Now also consider that India is courting Israel and the US and both have "very friendly relationship with Iran right now" / note sarcasm.

You can't have the milk and the honey... It's either of.

6. Let me close by saying, India can't meet or copy the Chinese Model. It's too late for you in Afghanistan and your government has realised it banked all it's chips on the wrong "number".

problem with Zaid Hamid is that he speaks the truth in a harsh way................and reveal several classified info to media which must not be mentioned............he need to control his emotions.........

pakistan is saying this since the creation of R&AW... didn't say an end to R&AW..
not pakistan, some overly patriotic blind people.

RAW is here to stay, coming from a Pakistani.

Beaware, some Pakistanis will tell you that we can defeat USA and so forth. This doesn't represent the metric pass society of Pakistan.
