Sweden offer to collabrate with india for LCA

There is nothing substantial in this report. I agree with you, it doesn't offer any big advantage to tie up with SAAB
Yes it is we need Western advance Manufacturing capabilities

Whole mmrca saga was lesson. In future we need to work project's like Amca which much complex when it comes to technical capacity

HAL Snail pace mode isn't helping at all and its seriously affecting are operational capabilities

Hal reluctant on missing deadline old beaurucratic attitude isn't helping are forces

Even if LCA is better platform than JF-17 but
JF-17 operationally Viable options and available for its operational Requirements that makes it successful than its Indian counter part.

Hi

Points where we actually need help.

1. Engine . SAAB can't help it.
2.AESA . Israel is already helping us and our AESA would probably come out before them.
3.Avionics . Our French origin ones are working excellent and IAF is quite satisfied with it.
4.Weapons . Again our own missile program is progressing at a good pace with Israeli and Russian help.

What else can SAAB offer us?

Cheers
Thanks

Advance manufacturing capacity which we don't have

Many technical manufacturing process which we don't possess modern Industrial technology which we need in future project's like AMCA

Hi
I do agree with this point to a big extent. But if we need help in manufacturing then why SAAB?
BAE or DASSAULT are of course better. And why not Boeing. We have seen them delivering us Globemaster and posidens.

And what you exactly mean by advanced production capability. Rate of production or Quality of production.

Cheers
Thanks

Advanced manufacturing capability is not a big deal. Reliance made a world class refinery by employing a foreign vendor and Adani's made a world class port. The matter is of will and not the technology itself.

and to be honest HAL does have a good facility to produce world class planes. Its the labor that is the problem and yes of course, there is bureaucratic issues and lots of red tapism.

isn't it obvious,,,,experience n expertise

Hi
1. Expertise :- Is the percent of Swedish parts in Gripen higher than that of Indian parts in Tejas.

2.Experience:- We are presently working with BAE , Boeing , Sukhoi, Mikoyan Gurveich. Is SAAB more experienced than any of them.

I have no problem if only these two things is what we want from them, what I fear is a very high price.

Cheers
Thanks

again indigenous argument,,,how does any of it matter?
point is,,,they Have been successfully developing aircrafts for some time n have already developed an aircraft similar to our tejas.which means,,,,we can definitely learn from them.
n as for HAL(or any othr agency) collaborations with reputed names,,,it has been going on for some decades,,,wonder why the experience gained cudnt be translated into fruitful technologies for tejas program,,,,,my guess,,,the big ones dont want to part with critical techs. While our agencies r happy with the screwdriver.
if we can gain somthng from SAAB,which we didn't from othrs, then why not, offcourse aftr comparing with othr available options
edit:as for the price issue,,,if tejas mk2 is not upto the mark,,,,we will end up buying more foreign aircrafts,,,which i think will be more costly....so,everthng shud be done to make a decent aircraft out of tejas.

Hi
As @cerberus said that its alright to go for their experience but not for there expertise.
Because.
1.If you don't think about the payload of Tejas Mk1 , its more or less same in capabilities of Gripen A/B.
2.Now for help with Tejas mk2. Tejas mk2 in its present planned configuration will be much better than Gripen C/D at least by 0.5 Generation.
3. Now just think we are talking about taking help from someone for making something in future which they themselves haven't achived. Remember the problems they are facing with Gripen NG.
Cheers
Thanks

It should be illegal to make the title sound so tantalizing and the content a rehash of what we already know.... Desi media

Yes Saab has a great experience in making the plane. Our main problem is aerodynamics and Engine integration. If we can get these 2 areas right. LCA can be a huge success. Give some partnership to them in LCA project. We can have a world class fighter from the integration of Tejas and gripen technology.

But the main difference is that Up-till 247 Gripen has been manufactured and In Service of Various AF For Years and LCA is Still far from getting its FOC.

have not you not seen drop in our Squadrons numbers our pilots are forced fly mig-21 till 2021 or beyond
