We'll never agree.
Yugoslavia's constitution was against seperatism. I understand that Slovenes and Croats wanted leave, communism was collapsing and nationalism started coming back again. Technically, according to the Yugoslav Constitution, they had no right to leave and the Yugoslav Army tried to stop them. As more and more Slovenes,Croats and Muslims started deserting from the JNA,it became a more Serb-dominated army. They were the ones fighting for the unity of the country initially, but then just for the right of their own people to stay in Yugoslavia. As for the word "genocide",it's been thrown around very easily the last 30 years. Saddam was extremely nasty, yes, the Kurds have always fought for an independent Kurdistan,yes...but you can't just support independence here and there(as USA)and when another country does the same, you protest and call it a blatant violation of sovereignty.
The U.S. basically gave Kosovo to the Albanians by militarily supporting UCK during the war, leading a NATO campaign against Serbia and recognizing Kosovo's indepedence.
Why do you think the Albanians have a statue of Bill Clinton in Prishtina?

Americans an Western European countries in NATO and with their recognisition later on,gave Kosovo to Albanians, which depopulated the Serbs even more, had many churches and monasteries destroyed or attacked and eventually this experiment became a failed mafia State.
