Sudan strikes back after Ethiopian army attacks Sudanese military base

Sudan historically always seen as a neutral country and acts like a middle ground between Egypt and Ethiopia.

But, this time they’ll most likely won’t support Egypt (at least not openly) because the dam has some positive effects for Sudan;

1. It protects Sudan in the rainy season from floods and mudslides as the flow of Blue Nile will be controlled now.

2. It will give access to cheaper electricity for Sudan if the two countries sign an agreement on electrical power sharing.

3. Sudan can build its own dam downstream as justification for mitigating the GERD effect on its agriculture.

Sudan has a good experience with one of Ethiopian Dams, Tekeze river. Since it came operational, it lowered the risk of flood and made sure a steady water flow with the effect of increased agriculture production for Sudan. Sudan knows very well GERD is a plus for them.

The attacks that we heard lately is likely fake news.

Bad news for Ethiopia and Sudan is that Egypt is more powerful than both of them combined. If Egypt doesn't like it, Egyptians will get their way.

Muslims good for killing each other while their real enemies thrive. What a disgrace this ummah has become.

Ethiopian government is mostly in the hands of the Christians. Muslims do not have equal representation to their population. You should search Oromo movement.

Nope, the majority are Muslims. The largest ethnic groups are the Oromos who are Muslims followed by Afar, Somali, Benishangul-Gomez, Harari and some minor ethnic groups. They hold 75% of the territories (mostly Somalis).

While the Christians are predominately inhabited in the northern Highland region and they’re ethnic Tigray (leading the country) and Amharans who also have 15 million Muslims. Of course, the ethnic Tigrayan Christians would hide the statistics for politicial reason but everyone in the Horns sees it as Muslim majority country.
