What's new

strong military or a strong economy

If your Sweden or Switzerland or tahiti or the Seychelles, economy but when you're a state that's been in 4 wars, has regional enemies 8 times its size waiting for any opportunity to exterminate you, having insurgencies inspired by them, you need a strong military. You might argue that strong economy strong military but what if the very industrial base your establishing requires foreign investment. What if the thousands of kilometers of roads you construct and the Trade on them can be attacked by insurgents. What if your ports or blocked and your forced to adhere to the imposes demands significantly reducing your economic might. What if the other simply invades and captures your strategic cities and industries. All this would inevitably lead to a weak economy and non existent military might. Bhutto was right when he said " my people will even eat grass but we need the bomb", gentlemen, that bomb has saved us as is evident from 2001 standoff, conventionally we had no chance of winning . Also if we had a weak military we would have simply been USSR occupied land in the early 90's

it's not about which one. it's about "which one now and which one later".

SO i think the economy come's first. First be a economic giant and then grow a strong military.

To remind you, Your economy will back your military, your military can't back your economy.
in egypt the economy control 40% of economy

Tell that Israel! Being attacked from constantly. Iran always threaten them with nuclear bombing and their country is this small. Yet their economy and scientific prowess is way higher than most of the countries.

Both are necessary..

A strong economy always lead to a strong military. Look at French, German, US, China, Russian military

You mean Military control 40% economy. so does in China. not that much percentage but it's military do control Defense related factories and research wing's. same the case in Pakistan. but how much longer can those industries sustain ? how much can a "general" improve the performance of an industrial unit ? general's are not businessman's. they are called generals. so they should do their own work i.e; serving the country while leave the business to private enterprises.

take example of Israel.

in israel militery dont have any function in economy even not in the defence company in egypt the militery control the country thats why she look like she is

Both but if I had to pick just one then economy- i'd rather be an economic powerhouse than a militaristic one
better economy would mean better security/income/education/healthcare/infrastructure/foreign relations and overall better quality of life for the people.

Strong military with supporting strong economy.

It's pretty simple formula. Strong economy doesn't protect you...strong military does.

ALL world powers of today built strong militaries first and economies later. Especially China, Russia, United States, France, Japan etc etc

Same goes for Israel as well.

Good lord,it seems like lock down has started taking toll on you, that's why it's third almost decade old thread you are trying to revive.

Bhai relax. I was thinking of making a new thread, but here I found one.

Fact Pakistan Healthcare System is completely exposed, what if we had strong economy and can invest on our healtcare system.
