JF17 is in my eyes a cross between a light and medium multi role ac.

But there needs to be twin engine aircraft. That has stealth features (doesnt have to be a full on next gen fighter) and more loiter abilities and payload capacity. To fulfill naval, deep strike and limited air superiority(AZM could take lead in this role.

The design or basic mindset/sub systems/manufacturing capabilities of JF17 program could be modified and shaped into this new program.

Offcourse cost and $$$ is a huge issue right now. But so it was throughout Pakistan and PAFs history. But we still managed to churn out a capable JF17. Now we r on our way to BLK III.

I think for a strike and air superiority platform, there is no need to create a larger, meaner JF-17, one can simply by the MiG-35 and put the electronics of the JF-17 (and anything else) on it. The MiG-35 is an enlarged, twin engined JF-17...

no. there is nothing in common between 35/17 except for maybe a version of engine; entire flight characteristics; controls/systems are different. Migs system are optimised specifically for the overall envelop of its design. 35s are much ahead of 17s if you try to compare them on paper and most likely in performance as a machine.

Precisely - the MiG-35s would make far better air superiority and strike platforms than trying to enlarge the JFTs. Which was what I was trying to say with some added irony.

Now, if you put the enlarged AESA, cockpit avionics set, EW, RWR, MAWS, etc of the JFT BLock 3, you'd have what you need. Without having to build an enlarged JFT.

What do you say Denel? Doesn't that make sense? It is possibly also the most realistic way for Pakistan to counter the Rafale.

@denel humor me.

Take part in J-31 Program
After that join Turkish TAI-TFX program for east and west and long term project and we will have a sound AirForce eith JF-17 block III and further blocks with improvement in the tech by introducing further blocks

Also Pakistan needs to invest more in Air Defence Program

Pak needs to invest heavily in education sector; that is where it will yield results at grass roots; you are looking from top down; it needs to be bottoms up.

Mig 35 is not battle tested. Russians systems are only good on papers.
JF-17 is evolving at a fast pace. We can integrate weapons of our choice on it.
Double engines aircrafts serviceability is always an issue.

If we can get J-20 instead of J-31. We are the only country Chinese may sell it to.
Turkish program and Azm programs can become one. Both countries will benefit from cooperation.

We have loads of educated people, the thing is with how pathetic the justice system is ( might and wealth = license to kill and rape without fear) and how crap the police is , no educated people want to stay permanently

.
Well one could easily rebut that argument by two words
ROTE LEARNING
And no critical thinking.

we have very less time left and after attacking iran our turn may come so we should improve our air power and defense to respond to any foreign aggression

MiG-35 is an evolution of MiG-29 and is one of the most battle tested aircraft in the world among 4th generation aircraft.

JF-17 can never reach the capabilities of a twin engined fighter, something needed to counter the Rafale.

MiG-35 is the least maintenance intensive twin engined aircraft that is available to the PAF.

You are talking about bringing in J-20 while claiming MiG-35 would be too maintenance intensive. At some point hopefully, you'll see the error of this.

Sahab, even if you consider the rote learning system ( although lakhs do A level etc) consider out of that even if only 2% are very bright and educated, out of a population of 2 million that's roughly 4 million top of the line minds , I personally know many who left Pakistan to work in Nasa, Cern, Airbus Boeing etc in good positions
