I'm so proud of our boys.. We lost to Spain on a sissy goal. But they didn't miss a beat after being scored on. I'm really encouraged by the heart and talent that the boys showed to come back and put the heat on Spain, score once and have it disallowed and create so many near goals on arguably the most powerful team in the world. No sad feelings here.... Portugal watch out!

Iran needs some players that can score...You did better than the Sunni bunch...They went to Russia as Arab Teams , they all came back the same as a team..that Arab brotherhood of the mediocre.

It was a good game. Kind of disappointed they didn't push in the middle of the first half. Sergio Ramos and costa were clearly getting frustrated which was funny to watch. Hopefully Iran will score a goal in their next game.

We lost, but with honour, heads high.
Unlucky kind of own goal and the offside goal was like few cm's offside. There were also some other chances that we missed. Against Portugal, we'll have no other option than to attack from the start.

Funny you should mention scoring, because Jahanbakhsh and Ansarifard were the top scorers of the Dutch and Greek leagues and another Iranian, Kaveh Rezaie was the 4th best scorer in the Belgian league, in his first year in Europe. So finishing wasn't on the top of my concerns. But you're right, we haven't been able to make our counter-attacking game count as much as I had hoped.

On another note, why are Moroccans so arrogant and bitter toward Iran? I visited a few of their forums and they don't seem to be able to digest the fact that Iran was executing their game plan. They think they were supposed to come in and walk away with a win and somehow we unfairly stopped them... lol

Was really impressed by the Iranian performance. This Spain squad is arguably the best in the world and to give them such a tough game is something to be really proud of. The Iranian goal was offside but they had a lot more chances that should have been converted. Still I think Iran can go into the Portugal game very confident. Control/Man mark Ronaldo and Portugal are quite toothless.

Don’t blame Moroccan they are blameless, it’s their government that is lost in twighlit zone...They have no more say on their government odd behavior than you or I have on ours...
Going back to the game, Iran needed a finisher..although they still,on the run..which is not bad, regarding the difficulties due to the sanctions on Iran...Even if they don’t advance to next competition, they were still voted the best looking team by the social media...Something the Sunni side did get..

lets me predict the outcome of Iran vs Portugal ... we will likely win .... Iran 2 - Portugal 1 or Iran 3 - Portugal 1

Iran showed they truly belong on the world stage.

Pity for those whose asses were tickling and burning at the self goal victory Vs Morocco.

We shall see what happens... I'm predicting that Quieroz will release the hounds and we will see a much more offensive minded game from Iran, similar to what we saw in the last 40 minutes today. The question will be if we get to score more than we get scored on. Anyway, if Spains even draws against Morocco, we would need a win to advance.

By the way, this wouldn't happen to be you Ceylal analyzing the Iran-Maroc game now, would it?
