As ML-1 Rail line is being rebuilt, Multan needs a dry port, because it is the convergence of so many road and rail lines. Cargo going from the rest of Punjab, via rail can be shifted onto trucks for transit to and through Baluchistan via Fort Monro. We should not just depend on on route to Baluchistan (via Sukkur up to Quetta) but need many options in the event of war, natural disaster, or social unrest. Also, multiple routes forces companies to compete and keep costs of transport down.

Development via south Punjab into Baluchistan will also speed up development along the route.

After what has happened in Beirut, The Authorities in Multan (and other places with similar facilities) need to check to see if the Fertilizer factory there is following all appropriate safety guidelines. If there is any storage of large amount of potentially dangerous materials, they need to be moved away from the population, to a more rural area with proper blast protection.

similar to what is done in Jordan
