South Korea wouldnt go battle Iran by themselves. They would have the US back them fully 100%. They are amongst the best US allies and have sent troops to both afghanistan/iraq. We respect and back our korean allies.

South Korea has managed to hold its own against North korea, China, USSR for the last 50 years. Sure the US had some influence but you cannot discount Korean culture, innovation, and hard work as well.

On a soft power scale South Korea has almost as much influence if not more than China on a global scale due to their supply lines, manufacturing, K-pop, and cultural influence. Maybe you forgot Seoul had olympics more than 20 years before Beijing. Not to discount Chinas own rise and hard work but please dont discount others who are just as much role models.

Much more influence it is not equal. Korean soft power is global compared to China which is largely local. They are a welcome addition to the Hormuz coalition
