To be fair , north Korea and South Korea are divided MAINLY because of the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union as the GOD father of communism is the main reason North Korea was carved out from Korea to a communist heaven by the USSR and was a Soviet satellite state just after world war 2 when the Soviet occupied North Korea and installed their puppet governement there(Kim dynasty). China had no role there. In fact in some ways we can also say the same about China , China itself is still not United also because of the Soviet Union. It's the same reason the CCP came into existence in the first place. Without the Soviet Union there will be no CCP or NKCP(North Korean communist party) as well .
Same can be said of Vietnam and other countries in Mekong region (Cambodia/Laos) who turned Communist due to Soviet expansionist ideology.

your knowledge about history is very poor , I recommend you to learn about actual history of Korea before talking again about this subject

Saying South Korea will export KFX/IFX to Indonesia is not true. The program belongs not only to South Korea, but also Indonesia. Yup, we are not supporting the program fully financially under Jokowi administration and renegotiation is still going on, but we support the program through our human resources and expertise.

SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Yonhap) -- Indonesia is in arrears on its payment obligations for a joint project with South Korea to develop a next-generation fighter jet, citing financial problems, data by the arms procurement agency showed Monday.

Indonesia is a partner for South Korea's so-called KF-X project to develop a homegrown fighter aircraft in an effort to procure combat aircraft for its own air force and boost its aerospace industry. The country agreed to shoulder 20 percent of the development cost of the 8.8 trillion-won (US$7.36 billion) project.

But the Southeast Asian country failed to pay 301 billion won it was supposed to pay as of end-September, according to the data by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA). So far, it has paid 272.2 billion won.

"Following the Indonesian president's request in 2018 for talks on the payment, South Korea set up a pan-government consultative body and has been holding working-level discussions with Jakarta," DAPA said, noting that the two sides have met four times so far this year.

"Despite such a delay in payment, the Indonesian side has continued to send its researchers to South Korea to take part in the development process," Rep. Kim Joong-ro of the minor opposition Bareunmirae Party said during a parliamentary audit into the administration, voicing concern about technology leaks.

As of July, 114 Indonesian engineers were sent to South Korea to work with Korea Aerospace Industries Co. (KAI), the country's sole aircraft manufacturer, to design and make a prototype of the fighter, according to a DAPA official.

Last month, DAPA confirmed that the design for the combat jet met all military requirements, allowing the project to go on to the next phase of constructing a prototype.

The prototype will be ready in the first half of 2021, and the agency is eyeing 2026 for the completion of development, which began in 2016, according to DAPA.

Do you send 114 designer on F 35 program ? F 35 program start getting international partner after the plane has already won the competition from Boeing and the plane has already flown. It is different with KFX/IFX where Indonesia join the program when the program hasnt even started yet.

i would recommend you to research what Turkey produce there.. it worth 10 billion $. main fuselage, engine parts, landing part.... in documents, both are the same which matters at the end.. they were a partner to develop and make it..

I know Turkey produce some part of F 35 and part of value chain. Indonesia is currently in renegotiation, inshaAllah we would see the result of renegotiation soon.

i think the biggest problem (if it goes to be 5th generation and carry the bomb inside) its engine. its power will not be enough to make it supersonic if its body gets bigger, it will increase the drag a lot.. to add a stronger engine, you need to redesign the whole aircraft

I believe the possible block 2 KFX plane size will be similar with the first block, or if they want to make a larger one, it will not be too large either and there is possibility that F414 engine at that time has better trust since it is likely to be developed further since it is the only engine from GE for fighter.

using it only with air to air and some SDB missiles is really smart because having cruise missiles in it will make it very horizontal wide and way slower because of the drag, how ever, you can always put those small air to air missiles on the sides. Korea has good technologies.
also, the problem with 414 is they get more power by enlarging the fans for 404 engine which is also a problem because it creates more radar cross section even though you want to hide it.. They try to make a f18 type of jet that nothing is wrong about it and actually it will be able to export more than those 5th generations as most of the countries dont really want to share their best and most important technology. look at f22, USA dont want to sell to anybody..

Dude I dont know where you get the idea that Indonesia has any knowledge in modern aircraft production compared to Turkey or even Pakistan... Turkey has been building F16s since the 90s, Pakistan has been producing modern Jf17s since the 2000s. What has Indonesia produced today? zero nitch nilll

Trying to piggy back on a South Korean 5th generation program when you guys are barely any sponsors for... the koreans themselves have stated that Indonesia has not even paid its fair sum in money to claim itself to be a partner in SOUTH KOREANS indiginous fighter program, so if even south korea officials dont consider indonesia a partner nor acnoledge any contribution from Indonesia then why do indonesian officials go around and bragging about other nations achievements???

What input or contribution indonesia even make when today indonesia not even capable of making 3rd generation figher let alone a 5th generation fighter.

Please put your bragging aside and live in reality. To be honestly looking at this as an outside observer makes me cringe... esp when I see you bragging and the Koreans slapping that down stating you guys have yet to even pay for your fair share in the partnership... its like me trying to take credit for my friends achievement who I promised 50% share in his company by paying him... but never did yet brag about his achievements

South Korea said on Monday a project to develop a fighter jet with Indonesia was on track, and it will negotiate a way for Indonesia to pay its contribution, of which about $200 million is unpaid.

I have already given you the article that show KFX/IFX Configuration design leader is an Indonesian right ? Why dont you read ?

This show despite we are late in payment but we still help the program until the design is finished in the end of 2019 (CDR is September 2019)

116 Indonesian engineers get home in March 2020 where at the time the design has already been completed ( for single seat KF 21/IFX). The reason of coming back home is due to our Mindef at that time look like dont support the program and this program is owned by Mindef.

1. Jokowi is present via Teleconference during KF 21/IFX roll out ceremony

2. Indonesia Mindef is invited during the roll out as well and physically present, he is next to SK Prime Minister

3. There is Indonesian flag in the prototype
