In South Asia there will be five distinct economies by 2030 thanks to the master plan of turd Modi and brilliant Hasina.

1. Mid rank manufacturing hub centred on BD. With seven sisters, Nepal and Bhutan providing the raw materials and cheap hydro power.

2. South India will be the high tech hub. It already is, tbh!!!

3. Financial hub centred in Mumbai.

4. Heavy industries and petro chemicals centred around Gujarat.

5. Low growth loser areas and centre of religious hatred - centred around cow belt and another country. They will also be the bread basket.

Nearly there but BD will also be a regional hi-tech hub as last fiscal it exported 1.4 billion dollars of IT services and products and we are likely to see 30-40% growth of the last 14 years continue.

I am more enthusiastic in innovation in agriculture and farming sectors, how can we increase productivity of the land without straining the environment, better supply chain management and adopting more mechanization.

Second should be in renewables, energy storage and distribution and semiconductors.

I live in South India and there's a mix of stupids and rationals here.

These stupids are from South India :) :

Still, there are rational people and progressive activists in South India including in technology. And since we are talking about 2030 it will not just be the rationals of South India who will contribute to South Asia, not only will these people collaborate with the rationals in rest of South Asia but the political and technological changes in the world brought through the first human landing on Mars done by SpaceX will affect every part of the world. It may go two ways : (a). Countries will join East or West blocs and both blocs will have their own human space programs with attendant approaches on how to arrange societies in space, (b). Move will be made towards a unified humanity with a single, common progressive political and social system.

Vertical farms with hydroponics.

Yes definitely. But they are inefficient in growing rice, wheat, bajra, sugarcane and whole lots of other crops.

Farming and spraying fertilizers/insecticides using drones, detecting plant damage using hyperspectral cameras on drones, sensor fusion is what I have in mind.

if just india could stop farmer's suicides it will be greater victory then anything else , yahan kisan ko roti chawal se fursat nhi janab ko drones or sensor feusion ki pari hai .

Indian farmers suffer from two issues:

1. They are extremely inefficient hence reliant on massive subsidies and price protection. Double edged sword meaning they cannot export to rich countries for higher markup.

2. Banyas have them enslaved through loan sharking. They do not have the Bangladeshi equivalent to BRAC or Grameen.

These are the steps that will prevent farmer suicide. Over dependence on fertilizer, illegal money lending, and dependence on climate are the primary reason for farmer's suicide.

It takes a farmer a whole day to spray insecticide on 2 acres of land, depending on the crop. A drone can do it for under 20 mins. Sensor fusion can determine the organic/moisture content of the soil, and hence will save on over spending on fertilizers or over/under watering of crops. Mass produced sensors will cost in few pennies. I am saying this because, I design and fabricate sensors.

On top of that, low cost low energy food storage chambers, better supply chain will be boon to our farming sectors.

There are some issues which can be solved with technology, farmer suicide is definitely one.

Ok so i am a farmer i did spray in 20 minutes and then what to do ? Sit under the tree watch ? Why world is so in hurry ?

South Asia 2030 - More hungry poor population, instability, climate issues and litter everywhere.
Not forgetting millions of more people flocking to the west.

Farmers with significant amount of land will save on hiring seasonal workers, which will in turn save money. Second, a farmer then can focus on harvesting, storing and selling his yields. And majority of farmers also owns cattle, which needs more active labor.
