Cultural relativism in mind, then we have to note such things are not uncommon in Islamic nations. However, given the manner and circumstances in which Mr Khashoggi was murdered, I am very dubious his family would ever freely forgive the perpetrators (would you?). I am certainly leaning towards that there is more to this story, for example an element of coercion.
