Very easy to recover but you'll have to buy the recovery program if the data you're recovering is big in size. Unless you overwrite the entire disk, (jesay cassette mai purni recording kai upper nai recording kar dete hain) your pictures aren't going anywhere. Its probably a virus and your folder has been hidden. Use the free software Folderguard to open and unhide it.

What i feel is that its stash of XXX stuffs and all this techies probably realized that and thats why they are trying to covertly get it restored back.

You can try the free version but didnt work for me as far as i remember, it was long time ago.
I fvcked up pretty bad, i had 2 identical HD's i thought it would be a great idea to make a RAID configuration without a backup, and obviously my booth HD's got deleted automatically, but i could recover everything without loss or corrupt files.
