Is there a lawyer in the house ? Its been some years since I read the Law of Torts and the notion of a 'civil offense' ! :undecided:

Yeah i agree but as you said i think a Particular community wants absolute Freedom....!

The absolute freedom will only lead into the anarchism, which is not plausible in the current society.

We should blame those dirty politicians who keep abusing the word 'freedom' in order to keep fooling people.

They are not doing this for people's sake, but only using it to achieve their selfish political goal.

UN stands in silence for Charlie Hebdo. Did they stand in silence for the innocent children in Peshawar, Gaza, Syria?

Moon-Eyed Melly

Why would they? If they offer a minute of silence for every terrorist attack in Islamic countries, then they wouldn't have the time to run their own things. You see, human life matter in the West unlike your country, or my country, or other Islamic/muslim majority countries where surviving a day without an accident or assault is being considered as lucky.

But in the West, the thing that matter more than human life is its values like democracy and human rights. So when you kill people for drawing a cartoon, you are not only killing innocent people but you also happen to attack the very foundations of European society, hence the immense media coverage... You see, it represent much more than the 12 victims of terrorism or 120 or 1200.

As for the Western hypocrisy, as a guy from Turkey, I can tell you that they certainly are hypocrites when it comes to certain subjects. But as we can all agree, they also happen to be the best example for freedom of expression, for democracy, and for basic human rights. It might not be perfect, still it is the one closest to perfection.

So when I see these people from Pakistan or Arabia, inviting West to fix(!) the deifinition of freedom of expression by using the only excuse they can come up with, which is holocaust or N. word, and implying that they had these terrorist attacks coming... It is just pathetic and sad really.

Jews tend to be shielded from criticism because they have had a very recent tragedy on a very large scale. Any other religion is fair game in Europe or the States.
I don't think people who don't follow a particular religion have any obligation to respect it. When other religions and atheists can take criticism, why can't muslims?? A religion that is perfect for someone maybe flawed for someone else.

criticism, disagreeing etc etc is acceptable and welcome, calling names/mocking catoons is unacceptable.

many disagrees and criticizes Islam in europe and consider us terrorist or barbaric, even call Islam barbaric which is acceptable to us. its mocking and plain insulting of prophet that is not.

i am pretty sure any decent person will not call such a behavior "freedom of expression"

cartoons and drawings are more hard hitting ways to express textual information. Otherwise the intended matter might not have an impact.
you may love your prophet, others may see faults in him. This sounds simple enough.
you must remember that for a Christian or an atheist, other religions are no more than fairy tales.

Nobody's whining. Britain, France and other countries are not going to censor our media to appease brutal seventh century fanatics. Deal with it.

Its you who has problem dealing with

So them being a symbol of freedom of expression means other lives in other countries is worthless?

If there is a suicide bombing in Turkey killing 17, I'm sure no one will stand up in UNSC to sympathize with you, because your blood is worthless compared to them.

Do you know what's more funny? Many European countries and US have a footstep in all the bloodshed in region. Who attacked Iraq and Afghanistan? Didn't the 2003 invasion put the foundations of IS in Iraq?

If they were all innocent, I'd have no problem, but it's pure hypocrisy that their role in terrorism around the world is always ignored. I mean aren't you the same one who complains Europe hosting PKK and supporting them?

Is that a feeling of inferiority looking at Europe or what?
