The day marked a monumental episode in the glorious history of PAF as a state-of-the-art Weapon Test Range has been made operational to track the complete trajectory of the aircraft and launched missiles.

This modern facility, developed in collaboration with Chinese authorities, is equipped with real time tracking and measuring equipment to qualify the indigenously developed and procured weapon systems.

Times of Islamabad isn't a reliable source. As far as I know 86 JF-17s were operational. Are you sure there are 100 JF-17s operational now?

Why can't Pakistan mass produce these birds? What will happen to the older block-1s? Pakistan should ask for the TOT of the WS-15 from China.

Yes 100 are produced and flying in fact recently 100th came out of the production line where boss also visited. Soon would be given to PAF. But it's flying

Present production rate around 25 air crafts per year. I believe high tech defence products are not mass produced like beverages or chips. Block 1's can be upgraded to 2's and we will see what can be done once third block comes. So far PAF is happy with Russian engine but I am sure they will evaluate all the options.

Pakistan already producing jets at required pace and Ws-15 is not in use with JF17 or any other Pak jet. May be in future it can be installed on next gen Jet.
