Singapore Airshow 2018, held this week at the Changi Exhibition Centre, brought together tens of thousands of visitors from around the world. As in previous years, Israel has significant representation at the event.
Among the exhibiting Israeli companies is Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Its exhibition complex includes a variety of compounds such as an interactive war zone display combing unmanned aircraft, multi-mission aircraft, national cyber solutions, air and missile defense systems, and guided munitions. IAI also presents a wide variety of strategic defense systems such as BARAK 8, BirdEye 650, Rotem L, Green Dragon, Harop, Drone Guard, Multi-Mission Aircraft, and more.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems is showcasing a variety of systems and technologies, including the STUNNER (the interceptor of the operational David's Sling Air Defense System); the IRON DOME – a combat-proven active defense system against Short Range Artillery Rockets, mortars and UAVs; and the C-DOME – an operational Naval Area Defense System. Rafael is also presenting its SPIKE family of precise, multi-purpose tactical missiles, the TROPHY – the world's only operational, combat-proven Active Protection System for armored platforms, and many other systems.

IMI Systems is presenting its MPR family of air-to-ground warheads for the first time at the event, along with a variety of unique weapon systems developed for point strike missions, and adapted to urban warfare and the protection of sensitive facilities. The company is also showcasing the "Red Sky" anti-drone system – a short-range air defense system that utilizes shoulder-launched missiles to intercept aerial targets automatically, using autonomic capabilities of scanning, tracking and dispatching. Also on display are IMI's advanced spectral decoy flares for aircraft, designed for use against advanced anti-aircraft surface-to-air missiles equipped with heat-seeking warheads and air-to-air missiles based on the same technology.

Aeronautics group is presenting various unmanned aerial systems, including the Orbiter 4 UAS. The Orbiter 4, which has a 24-hour loitering capability, has high transportability and does not require a landing strip. It can also carry and operate two payloads simultaneously. Other features include satellite communication, cellular interception sensor that is fully operational from take-off throughout the mission until landing under GPS denied conditions, Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), and Controp's advanced XR electro-optic payload.
UVision, an Israeli company specializing in the development and manufacture of loitering munitions, is also participating at the airshow.
Elbit Systems is presenting a wide array of advanced and tested solutions at the exhibition. Among these systems are the Multi-Spectral Infrared Countermeasures (MUSIC) airborne self-protection family that provide Direct Infrared Counter Measure (DIRCM) protection for all types of rotary and fixed-wing aircraft against MANPADS; SPECTRO XR payload – an ultra-long-range, day/night, multi-spectral electro-optical ISTAR system; Skylark 3 – a tactical mini-UAS designed to deliver organic airborne ISTAR capabilities to the division, brigade and battalion levels; and others.
