What's new

Since 1947, political anarchy is the Status Quo in Pakistan

No need to get personal bro.

You can do better, a lot better.

What you call 5 year long disastrous period, must be viewed as Pakistani political institutions coming out of military led sick-bed.

Just like a human patient cannot start running immediately after hospital emergency room bed,
so too cannot the "political institution".

For long term healthy system, it will take at least 25 years.

What the sock-puppet of Sh. Rasheed has done is hit the political institution with a heavy SUV (that the puppet of tarin uses to go to bani gala).

So the political institution is back on the ambulance.

This is the worst one could ever do to a recovering institution to hit it hard again.

Sock-puppet of Pirs and zimindars is doing the most stupid things right now.

And you Sir as an educated person, supporting such disastrous and stupid acts of the puppet.

So sorry to see.

My thoughts exactly. Pakistanis can't expect an infant democracy to work wonders. In the real world, nothing is gained without some pain, sacrifice and patience.

Pakistanis keep uprooting the tree and then ask why the tree doesn't ever bear them any fruit.

So gentlemen, is it safe to say that Pakistan benefitted and prospered during Musharraf ? Why are some folks against him now ?

On the face of it, yes. Growth was good, energy was still doing okay, though deteriorating, inflation was being controlled, politics was simpler. However, Musharraf's action DIRECTLY led to the 5 years of hell that followed his dictatorship.

This is the case with all dictators of Pakistan. They create an unsustainable, temporary period of prosperity which sets us up to inevitably fall twice as hard when they leave their mess behind. Right now, Pakistan's democracy is a 6 year old infant who isn't even potty trained.

military rule essentially puts the country in emergency room.

While the country may have improved vital signs while in the emergency room, it is not a long term solution.

No man can remain in emergency room and claim he is healthy.
No man can compete in world olympics while in emergency room.
No man can claim that he is strong while lying on the hospital bed.

Same way Pakistan as a nation cannot claim Musharraf's period was filled prosperity, because such vital signs must be viewed in the context of being in the emergency.

In general then, we cannot compare military rule with civilian rule.

Military rule = Hospital stay
Civilian rule = out in the open, walking, working, and facing life

Thank you.
